Donovan McMillon to Pitt

it shows maturity to bring these kids back after not choosing them first.

But, I love seeing how fast these older, gritty coaches have adapted to the new world of transfer portal. We are certainly a big player in this the past few seasons

I kinda recall that Pitt wanted him at LB but he wanted to play Safety. Not that it was the difference maker in why he committed to UF. I assume he's changed his mind. Still think he's a LB.

I think wanting to remain at safety played a role in him transferring. Supposedly, Florida also wanted him to move to LB.

I'm sure we'll find a spot for him with Hallett and Hill moving on. The thing that kind of stings is that he's only got two years of eligibility left. If he was a 2020 guy, he could have one year at S and two at LB if it turns out you and I are correct and that's his best fit. But since he's a 2021 guy and they blew his redshirt on mostly special teams, well, any move to LB would almost have to happen after spring practices if he's going to have more than a season at that position.

Looking at his offer sheet out of high school this kid had offers not only from football powers but from some of the smartest schools in the country. Seems like a solid addition to me.

It is puzzling to me why a player would not understand that playing at a position one click down in terms of speed gives one the best opportunity at the next level. Slow safety or fast Linebacker? or even Slow Safety vs average speed Linebacker opens up a lot more doors, IMO. Speed is king.

Yep, speed is the one area you can't really compromise in.
