Recruiting Article Drake on Pitt: "I knew I couldn't pass it up"

Pitt’s biggest official visitor from the weekend became the first one to commit to the Panthers, as 6’6” 310-pound offensive lineman Jerry Drake announced his verbal pledge on Thursday.

Drake, from Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.), made the commitment this week because he is planning to enroll in January. He previously took official visits to Oklahoma, Tennessee and South Carolina, but a combination of factors made Pitt stand out.

If you would have asked me in Sept. which O-Linemen that were probably destined to become Panthers I would have said Thayer Munford w/ Bector as a long shot. Warren & "the Drake" would not have been on my radar from everything that was being reported at the time.
Of course I am only talking about O-Linemen outside of our local area. Just goes to show that recruiting is a long season & the staff that stays in the game until the end will prove their metal in the long run.
Great job to Coach Peterson, Coach Duzz & the rest of the staff.
