Drew Timme……

Bruins go home in tears.

I think Blake Hinson drew up that last 3 by the Zags.
Reminded me a lot of that Kris Jenkins shot to win the national championship in 2016. You'd think teams would be prepared for the trailer to shoot the three by now!

I know this board like to complain about coaches ... I feel like this loss should fall on Cronin. I know his team still had a chance to win at the end, but Timme was scoring at will at a point to get the Zags back in the game, and Cronin was just letting it happen. And I feel like they never tried to challenge him at the other end of the court. Maybe they don't have the big guys to do that, but if we have a guy like Fede that could do that to Bacot, I would have thought UCLA has someone for it.

UCLA was down their best low post defenders (injured in their 32 game) and their best overall defender (season ending injury late season). They ran out of gas. Gonzaga is really good. Beating TCU and UCLA back to back is impressive. I think Cronin did the best he could. He's done well there.

The Zags are certainly a well rounded team, so I agree it was a pick-your-poison situation. But Pitt was down its best low post defender, and Capel recognized that as a weakness, so he had Pitt double team when Guillermo's guy got the ball. Cronin couldn't seem to recognize his team's glaring weakness last night.

When Pitt played a team that can score even close to Gonzaga in the NCAAT, they got smoked. Xavier easily controlled the entire game. Xavier scored even more than Gonzaga. Not sure that's a good example. UCLA would hold Miss State and Iowa State down in points too.

Pitt actually held down Xavier's leading scorer, Boum, for much of the game. But the rest of the team beat us. Timme is one of the leading scorers in all of college basketball ... I would have challenged the rest of Gonzaga, at least when Timme was singlehandedly keeping the Zags in the game.

I understand what you're saying but seems UCLA strategy worked better than Pitt's strategy.

TCU and UCLA are both significantly better defensive teams than Pitt this year and both had major issues stopping the Zags. Both are better rebounding teams too and were out rebounded badly too. Zags are a tough out.

I’m too young to have watched Kevin McHale, but from what I’ve read and YouTube clips, he is Kevin McHale 2.0.

I’ll be rooting for the Zags in that one. I wouldn’t mind seeing Few finally get a ring after knocking on the door for so long.

Never prepared for the trailer to shoot it from the logo.

And that play they ran at the end with one second left gave them a realistic shot at the win.

Timme’s offense wasn’t a factor for about the last 5 minutes because he was well defended. It was their perimeter guys that did all the damage in the last few.

is a savage. Does it all. If he had any athleticism at all he’d have been a lottery pick a couple years ago..
but can he produce a valid birth certificate.?..I swear I played against him in an over 40 rec league last Fall...
