The truth is that DT seemed to be less motivated to do them this year. Seems like after 6 terrible years it has finally wore him down. He has his son's hoops to enjoy. Even for the best of them you get tired of reviving a corpse.I don't want to channel my inner you again tonight lol.
I was wondering about his son's hoops career actually but I thought he mentioned he was covering the games for his school newspaper. Perhaps a future Pitt-friendly sports writer? Or at least another Pantherlair post-game reviewer. The truth is that DT seemed to be less motivated to do them this year. Seems like after 6 terrible years it has finally wore him down. Actually he hit the nail on the head for the season in his first dribbles after the intra-squad scrimmage. Uncanny how accurate he was.The script for this team was written early in the season. I think DT could have gotten away with continuing his post game musings by simply copying and pasting the Citadel game “ dribbles” and inserting the name of each opponent played that day
I went to the WPIAL championship last night to watch Fox Chapel upset North Hills 43-36. Fox Chapel’s Head Coach is a fine, fine man who I had the pleasure of coaching in 5-8th grades. He developed a rugged rock fight grinding game plan, defending the crap out of North Hill, even just surrendering 3 points in the 3rd quarter.I don't want to channel my inner you again tonight lol.
Otherwise, I will do a full season summary at some point after we lose on Tuesday or maybe Wednesday, because we might win one in Brooklyn.I don't want to channel my inner you again tonight lol.
I have not seen much offensive structure to any of Capel’s teams. Defensively there is good effort and intensity for stretches but it is rarely sustained for 40 minutes. For the most part he’s coached at Pitt like he’s had Duke’s personnel instead of Slippery Rock’s. It’s not good when after 4 years people still don’t know what you are other than bad.I was wondering about his son's hoops career actually but I thought he mentioned he was covering the games for his school newspaper. I'm not sure what you want him to say. The team is bad. And the toughest part to watch is that they don't even bother to defend. They are near 300th in the nation in 3 point FG defense. Defending 3 point shooting, doesn't take talent or skill. It takes effort and discipline. This team plays like they don't have a coach, just a bunch of guys playing pick-up. I feel bad for Capel because I believe he loves coaching and felt its something he is meant to do but he's just been really really bad at it unless he lucks into a generational player (Blake Griffin)

Fox Chapel was very tough, extremely physical, and perfectly disciplined, which was exactly the kind of player their head coach was in middle school.
Looking forward to itOtherwise, I will do a full season summary at some point after we lose on Tuesday or maybe Wednesday, because we might win one in Brooklyn.
