Watched this whole game so far .. Wake Up two 5 minutes into the 2nd half ..Duke really looks tired to me .. And Plumlee literally complains about EVERY thing that goes against Duke .. So annoying with his wannabe tough guy mean mug he puts on all game while doing absolutely nothing .. He might be the guy I can't stand the most in the ACC besides Lydon from Cuse

Duke wouldn't be doing Pitt any favors if they lose to Wake at home.

How so? Do you mean RPI wise? Because Duke losing would help Pitt in the standings IF Pitt wins out. Pitt needs Duke and ND to lose one while the Panthers win both, and Pitt will finish 5th in the ACC, which, with Louisville ineligible for the post season, Pitt will have the #4 seed in the ACC Tourney.

True, I wasn't looking at it from that perspective. I meant more from a National Tourney perspective. Duke is our one top 25, notable win, and if they follow up the loss to us, with a home loss to Wake, that will take some of the luster off of it, and probably even drop their RPI low enough that we no longer have that top 25 win. I hadn't considered the ACC tourney angle, but honestly, I'd rather be a 6 seed than a 4, our best chance of a deep run is to end up on the half of the bracket that UNC isn't on.

Agreed. I don't get the fascination some have with the double-bye in the ACCT. That is only meaningful if you think Pitt can win it, which I think is far fetched. Like you, I'm more concerned with just getting into the NCAAT, which hasn't yet been clinched. Georgia Tech is playing pretty well and I'm worried about a let down in Blacksburg tomorrow. Once Pitt wins that game then I'll root for Duke to lose to UNC on Saturday.

Duke's RPI was 11 coming in... they weren't dropping out of the Top 25 even with a loss.

Duke wins by 8.

WF had 18 turnovers tonight to Duke's 8, hope that trend continues.

WF had only 17 foul shots to Duke's 38. Duke ended up outscoring WF by 15 points at the foul line.

WF actually had more field goals than Duke 27 to 23.

Go Pitt.

We DON'T WANT A 4 SEED IN THE ACC TOURNEY.

Dixon is o-for when getting a double bye.

Getting the double-bye in the tourney raises the perception of the Panthers high enough to mean a good NCAA seed, even with a loss in the first game.

Getting the 4-seed also likely means Notre Dame or Duke in the 4-5 game... which isn't so bad, as Pitt has shown they match up with those two teams well.

I'd question whether getting a double-bye in the ACCT would have any influence on what NCAA seed we would get. Any influence would be just based on our higher ranking in the conference standings whether or not it gave us a double bye or not.

Also, if we miss out on the top four but finish 5th, we'll likely still be playing Duke or ND.

I also agree with the other poster, our track record with the double bye in conference tourneys is not good at all. Sometimes it is just better to get that initial game in against a team you have a good chance of beating and getting some momentum.

Does this mean you don't want to get to the Sweet Sixteen? Because Dixon almost always loses in the Sweet Sixteen. How about the Elite Eight? He's never won a game there.
