Dumb dvr recording question

I have comcast. if root shows the replay tonight , how do I record it if roots guide shows stupid other basketball games? is there a way to just recording at 9 and run until like 1am?

I don't have comcast, but most dvr's have an "extend end time" option on the recording details where you can add time or set a new end time for whatever is in the guide for the show begining at 9pm... or simply record everything scheduled in the guide from 9pm to 1am and watch it in segments.

There's an option to just record between one time to another.
