Probably have to miss the game which pisses me off. Forecast now shows freezing rain in somerset around 7pm. .25 inches of ice forecasted

Just a suggestion but get a room and enjoy the city.

If I didnt have to be back by sunday afternoon to get the dog from the kennel, but no options exist. The freezing rain lasts until 11am sunday and everyone that travels the turnpike knows the Sunday after Thanksgiving is the worst travel day ever. Maybe the forecast changes and I can make it but it doesn't look promising

Keep looking - appears temp forecast may be rising. Good Luck but stay safe!

We're driving from Eastern pa Sat morning to Pittsburgh and back early Sunday morning.
The Somerset temperature Sunday morning is expected to be high 30's with mostly rain some freezing rain.
It should be ok on Sunday morning.

Our youngest has to drive back to North Wales on Sunday. He's going to wait and leave around noon.

Pitt should offer free life insurance for season ticket holders that have to drive through Breezewood and/or the PA Turnpike to get to games. Double the policy when the the weather involves rain, fog and ice.

Looks like we’ll be in decent shape tomorrow. Just a little afternoon rain possible according to accuweather.

Just took a peak and honestly, I think our son is headed home tomorrow afternoon. No game is worth your safety.

That's the thing. 3:30 game. Let's say it ends right at the 3 hr mark. Get to the turnpike at best case scenario at 7. All forecasts from my local out here in south central pa to the Pittsburgh channels to the weather channel and accuweather all say it hits around the 8:30-9:00 pm range. It's just too close of a risk, on top of the temps hovering for hours before the rain at 33. I could stay overnight, but because of the lingering freezing rain into around noon in central pa, I would have to devote almost 2 full days for a football game, nevermind the turnpike on the sunday after Thanksgiving. My normal almost 4 hr drive has taken close to 7 on that day in the past.

The national weather service has said the somerset area expects .25-.5 inches of ice. That is a crazy amount.

We're almost there this morning but going over the "big hill" on the pa turnpike early Sunday morning on the way home will
be fun. We have to leave early Sunday.

And we drive into snow and ice 4 + hours later in Eastern pa.

I drive in, Mrs Buffett drives home she grew up driving around in the ice and snow mountains of Colorado.

Winter conditions- always have a blanket and two small storm candles , lighter in the car in case you get stuck.
Light the candles crack a window quarter inch and the vehicle stays at around 45.

Just asking are you using a peddle bike to get there 4 hours from Somerset. Will you not take the TP to 376 or the harmerville exit 4 hours.

4.5hrs from Eastern PA 302 miles we just go through Somerset and over the "big" PA turnpike hill 2,610 in elevation.

I heard we won’t get it until 10. Though I’m on standby, might just stay in Pittsburgh after the game.

Johnstown is not getting weather until 10:00pm. Plenty of time to get home. It’s your call. You’ll go if you want to. If you don’t, you won’t. Actions.

I wouldn’t either. But...
