EJ responds to pg editorial

You realize just how homely Penn State fans are when you read the Garth article. Oh, Light Up Night brings too many people. I dont like that. Of Parades with people celebrating events like this country's independence or honoring/memorializing our fighting servicemen/women who sacrifice for this country. I dont like that...too many people. I dont like that PSU hasnt been a player on the national stage since the 80s, but I want to believe they are...and why is Pitt getting all this positive coverage???

We get it PSUers. You dont like big crowds, cities, culture, diversity, and in many cases people of different backgrounds/races. Its a big reason why some people go to State College. Some people just want that sheltered life to be with people of their "like". Its sad and pathetic, but is what it is for some people I guess. Garth should considering looking for a position at the State College Ledger Times (or whatever podunk newspaper is out there)....or a greeter at the one and only prestigious fine dining restaurant and apparel store in State College....Walmart.

Sadly, then you read the BWI thread on this for EJ responding. Saying he shouldnt have responded. How he is acting like "little brother". Did anyone read the comments from Franklin/Smith when asked about Pitt and recruiting? LOLing at the strategic denial. Smith's statement was the equivalent of a 9 year old not getting picked for a kickball team and then pouting telling people they didnt want to play anyhow.

The PG Editor (sic) is quoted as thinking it funny. That editor did not reply to my E-mail.
BUTTTT, Exiting the Pete today I refused a free newspaper from a young lady.
She was offering the PG.
Maybe they need Pitt after all.
Too late for me.

The PG is free everyday on campus... Stacks piled around campus for the taking, like the Pitt News. No free Trib, though.

lol man Pitt better win that game. The buildup is going to last for months. Lets hope the moment isn't too big. Awful lot of pressure on each team, but especially Pitt since it'll be at Heinz.

It's about time someone called out those jackasses
Yep, also a lesson for a few to Posters here that get upset when posts on Pitt History of Great Pitt Players saying that happen 40 Years Ago and no longer matters?

I then just post how many Great Pitt Players are in the NFL right now the last 5 and 10 years ago and contradicts their own mistaken beliefs that is not important either.

Now EJ reminds everyone like done on the Lair Pitt Football History is something to be proud of Championships & All Players!

A Great Education Lesson for PPG Garth and here on the Lair for some that tried to Ripped Pitt too!

Who the hell is David Garth? He can allegedly love Pittsburgh all he wants, he is never welcome there.

The pressure should all be on PSU since they've out-recruited us forever. In reality, if PSU doesn't win with all of their higher rated recruits, I would think it should be viewed as an epic coaching fail on Franklin's part.

In typical fashion the first thing PSU wants to point to is attendance. I guess that's the only bullet left in the magazine.

Can't wait until Temple and PITT beat this team in the upcoming season.

Nailed it. They are considered big brother in the state. Thankfully, Narduzzi is extremely familiar with that scenario from his time at MSU.

This is what rivalries, even if they were extinguished for 16 years, are about. Lots on the line for both teams.

Anyone saying they do not care about this year's game or the next 4 games, and still say they love and follow College Football has others knowing not just wondering, can they be taken seriously?

The coming months, weeks, days, hours and minutes building up to this game, will be discussed over and over, with mutual banter, analysis, predictions, and why RIVALS is the appropriate name for all of Yahoo's CFB Websites of all Power Conference Teams?

All can love or hate, Pitt & Penn State, but mostly all looking forward to the game on all Boards on the LAIR & BWI and week does not go by without a post on all Boards.

And that is evidence that the PG is a piece of sh!t. They can't sell it so they have to give it away.

Of course it also could be evidence that the Trib can't afford to give any papers away because of how close they are to extinction too. I mean it isn't the PG that needed more than $20 million per year for 20 years from one of Scaife's trusts to keep the paper afloat. And now that Scaife is dead and that trust fund is empty it's actually the Trib that is on life support. Why do you think the Trib just sold off a bunch of their local papers and closed down a bunch more? They are losing money hand over fist.

Maybe they should have invested that money instead into a MLB franchise and ski resort like the other newspaper guy in the tri state area did.

For a writer to show his/her bias towards something is shoddy journalism. This guy couldn’t even make it through Mooo U’s communications program!

Suck it Garth

Absolutely right. State Penn's players are better than ours. Their campus is greener, their coeds more wholesome, their air is cleaner, their birds sing sweeter, their streets are safer, stadium is bigger and fuller, their thoughts are purer and they are paragons of goody-two-black-shoes virtue. It is unthinkable that they could lose to a collection of rabble like Pitt. Why the game itself is just a formality.
