First game I went to besides Gannon. Just really depressing. Its like driving through the town you grew up in, which was once a bustling suburb but now is a crime-riddled low-income hell hole. Its hard to watch and not just because the team is bad. The environment there is toxic.

I don’t think Capel had bad intentions. He had a few tough breaks with kids leaving and a few others that were busts.

He just wasn’t good enough to overcome it. There was no pipeline of talent, and he couldn’t stop the bleeding in terms of exits. There may or may not be a common thread with him, but ultimately a good college coach reloads.

So it’s over…but I can’t say he duped anyone. I think he tried.

I think he had an awful plan for developing the Pitt program, and then quit once he realized it wasn’t going to work. I feel duped. This is worse than Stallings.

I don’t see anything tangible to suggest he “quit”. I could be wrong.
