I know - huge grain of salt - but 7 of their top 25 available are CBs. There is a good chance the Steelers add there at the top of the 3rd round.
One reason they did trade up is that I think this CB market is rather flat. Baker, Williams and Murphy might be the top guys, but the drop from them to Lonnie Johnson or the kid from Temple isn't that great. Same with WR, another need area where there are a lot of good, but no great players. So they might be content to stick with two thirds.
But after last night, who knows?
What do you think the’d have to give away to move up to the first half of the 2nd round to get one of those guys. I don’t see a third and one of their sixth being enough.I think there’s also a chance they try to trade back into the second round and draft Greedy Williams (LSU) or Byron Murphy (Washington).
They just traded up to get into the top ten, so I guess all bets are off at this point.

I agree with you about the CB market, but I think the top heavy nature of the ILB class was a bigger factor. You've got the two Devins and then a bunch of guys with significant flaws. Maybe Mack Wilson pans out, but the flip side is he's serving you burgers in a couple of years. The Devins just have so much talent, physical and mental, that if you need an ILB, you either trade up or worry about it next year. In terms of CBs, despite the market being somewhat flat, I can see a team falling in love with any of the top 5 or 6 CBs. I can't see anybody falling in love with an ILB not named Devin.
I agree, so just throwing something out there, are either of back-up Qb's moveable or of trade value?
I'm not sure either is more valuable than a 6th round pick.
It's about quality of picks, not quantity. I am betting they try and trade back into Rd 2 to get Murphy or Williams.
You could say that about almost any of these kids. I don't disagree with your point about why they moved up for Bush. They obviously saw a big drop at ILB after him. But had they stayed at #20 and taken a corner, I don't think they would've gotten measurably better player than what they might get at #65 or whatever their next pick is. So that makes it easier to swing big.
This might be sacrilege, but personally, I don't think that Long from WVU is far off from Bush. He is a little lighter and not as good in coverage. But some team is going take him in the 4th or 5th and he is going to be a player.
Just seeing this NCanton, so a little too late for them now, but I would’ve said both thirds this year and probably a late round pick this year or next. What do you think the’d have to give away to move up to the first half of the 2nd round to get one of those guys.
