Thought this was worthy of it's own post. Although the money was good, UConn fans and administrators were upset with the new ESPN deal which was going to take many major UConn events off of TV and onto phones and laptops. For those that say linear TV is dead and ESPN is done because nobody buys cable anymore, here we have a major conference move made partly due to the fact games were being taken off linear TV channels. Discuss.

ESPN needed to at least allow the games to be sold to the local networks for TV.

One of the schools in my area is on that ESPN+ deal through their conference and it really hurts the school. The school is basically nonexistent in the community during football season because their games aren't on TV.

Funny thing is ESPN is moving some Big 12 content to ESPN+. The ACC gets a network and the Big 12 gets it's own link on a paid-subscription based app
