Starting tomorrow, we'll really start to see Narduzzi's recruits hitting the field for the first time. I see this as Phase 2 of Narduzzi's tenure.
Phase 1 was building a new culture, installing new offense and defensive systems, upgrading facilities, bringing in and retaining a solid assistant coaching staff, creating a new attitude, etc.

Last year's defense was manned by PC's recruits. This year, the turnover is nearly wholesale. PN's players are all over the 2-deep. They'll probably struggle early at times, due to a lack of experience, but it will be fun to watch them grow and develop on the field. I think our defense will look faster at least, right away.

Narduzzi said recently that it really takes 5 years to fully build a program, so in another two years (Phase 3), when these guys are upperclassman, we could really have something. That's the hope anyway, and I'm going enjoy the ride starting tomorrow.

I really want to see how this DL and LBs perform. Idowu looks bigger and stronger than last year. Zeise has to provide a better option at the LB position. The DL could be absolutely dominant in some games this year due to the number of talented young players and veterans PITT has lining up.

I agree, but I am excited to see the secondary also. Improvement there would be huge. I think the offense could end up being pretty darn good. I'm hoping Browne can really step up like Peterson sure did. This time of year is really fun with a clean slate and ready to go!

I'm excited to see how long before the message board coaches complain about Watson, criticize Hill for DB play and question HCPN for playing conservative with 3 touchdown lead in 3rd quarter.

Will it be the usual suspects or will we be graced with the presence of a new breed of armchair coaches this year? The unknown has me so amp'd up. Might go ask my wife for a little pickle tickle to help pass the next 3.5 hours or 3.5 min.

Cheers all

I am too, but I don get the optimism... we have 2 defense starters back only and most of offense is gone too. We have lots of inexperience and without arguably our best player whitehead
