Pitt still ranked #22. UCLA #21. Eerily similar to AP poll. Narduzzi ranked PSU #9 (lower than other coaches), while James Franklin did not rank Pitt. It is a shame Franklin's (and some others) pettiness gets in the way of common sense. Any coach that voted UCLA ahead of Pitt after Pitt beat them with half of their starters not playing, is just not credible. If coaches are going to take the responsibility of voting in the polls, they should at least do their homework. They owe that to fans across the nation.

It's possible that they don't know anything about the Pitt/UCLA game, when you look at that list do you know who everyone played and the result in their bowl game?

The Following Jackasses voted for UCLA but didn’t vote for Pitt in Final Poll...

Jamey Caldwell (Coastal Carolina) – She has a lot of nerve…

Brady Hoke (SDSU) Failure at Michigan…

Danny Gonzales (UNM) Record at UNM: 7-24 – Enough said…

Chuck Martin (Miami, OH) Record at Miami: 45-59 – Enough said…

Sonny Cumbie (Louisiana Tech) Career Coaching Record: 5-12 Enough said…

Mike McIntyre (FIU) Career Coaching Record: 50-73 Enough said…

Willie Fritz (Tulane) Career Coaching record at Tulane: 43–45. Hopefully this year was a fluke…

Stan Drayton (Temple) Career Coaching Record: 3-9… Ha!

Nick Saban (Alabama) – Still has a lot of West Virginia in him….

Kyle Whittingham (Utah) – a dick...

James Franklin (PSU) – Still stupid…

Pat Fitzgerald (Northwestern)…14-31 the last 4 seasons…. Hopefully in the unemployment line soon…

Sonny Dykes (TCU) – I’m glad he got slaughtered on national TV.

Lance Leipold (Kansas) – Hopefully reality will set in and Kansas will be Kansas again…

Dave Doeren (NCST) – Only ACC coach not to vote for Pitt…. a*shole…

One that had some integrity:

Tim Albin (Ohio U) – He didn’t vote for UCLA either… Career Coaching Record: 13-13

Notice most of the coaches who didn't vote for Pitt aren't even P5 coaches????? Speaks volumes....

First of all, most coaches are aware of most bowl results. And, If I was voting I would check into results of teams that I am not familiar with. But, it is the responsibility of coaches who are voting to vote intelligently, at least since it is important to college football fans, teams, and their conferences. A coach should not want their credibility for football knowledge questioned.

Not understanding Doeren. No brotherhood I’m guessing. Recruiting against Pitt is not a factor since you want your league to be ranked as a whole when going after so-called local athletes who want to play ”big time” football. There are many quotes from our area over the years as kids wanting to play big time football — and choose KY or any B1G school for example. Maybe Dave had a staffer fill out his ballot. Most likely.

So the bid complaint is we are ranked behind UCLA even though we beat them with some second stringers. So basing it off head to head shouldnt a 8-5 Louisville team be ranked ahead of us since they beat us. I know you will all say we were 9-4 and they were 8-5 but you have to look at the total body. Is 8-5 a better season with loses to Clemson and Florida State clearly the top two teams in the ACC. Or is 9-4 a better season with a loss to Georgia Tech-

All those guys are just jealous and want to make us look bad
Knock it off… The point is how can you vote for one and not the other? Most posters don’t have a problem with UCLA being ranked ahead of Pitt…Nobody is paranoid and thinks everyone is against Pitt….It is a humorous observation….SHEESH!

I can't tell if you're trolling, or just asking a ridiculous questions. You talk about total body of work and throw the GT loss out their against Pitt, and ignore that Louisville lost to 3-9 BC who was worse than GT.

Generally speaking the coaches don't actually do the voting. It's left to the SID or somebody else in Sports Administration

Honestly eliminate the "Coaches Poll" since it's widely known they couldn't give a crap and don't actually vote.

Franklin is a total jerk who would sell his soul for a win against Akron, he is paranoid that any good thing about Pitt will cost him a single 3* HS recruit who would languish on his bench anyway.

If head-to-head isn't the best measuring stick as to the better (therefore higher ranked team) why the heck is it ALWAYS the first tie-breaker in playoff positioning!!! Get a life.

ENOUGH!

I don’t know if we’re dealing with a troll or a miserable person…

But let’s take a step back and consider:

-Pitt won their last 5 games

-They won an exciting bowl game against a ranked opponent.

-They are ranked in back to back seasons for the first time since the introduction of the mobile phone…

-They are doing well in the transfer portal and not through yet.

-The basketball team is making progress….

And we are allowing trolls and unhappy people to piss in our Cheerios?

Let me sum it up without apologies:

Pitt DESERVED to be ranked.

Pitt DESERVED to be ranked higher than UCLA. They beat them head to head and finished with the same record. I don’t give a damn about schedule, GT, or anything else. It is irrelevant to the conversation.

In 1976 Pitt heat Georgia to win the championship. It didn’t matter that Georgia had a tougher schedule, they beat them head to head. Schedules and what if’s don’t matter.

The End….

Coaches (or their subordinates) vote with a purpose. Ranking the team that beat you higher makes your loss seem not as bad. Same in reverse. Sticking it to a rival isn't unusual or unfair, especially if you're going to war pretty regularly over recruits. Yes, Duzz gave PSU their lowest vote but it was at least a reasonable positioning. One lower than several other voters.

You made it about one game with your focus on the Georgia Tech loss.
I’ve also mentioned Louisville had 2 losses to Florida State and Clemson, We played neither. I could also mention UCLA beat a pretty good Oregon team. Everyone keeps talking about the head to head ang there is so much more to look at

A team like UNC would have been a better example than Louisville. Pitt had better record. UNC had more difficult games.
They imploded down the stretch or they would be ahead of Pitt. At the same time, their schedule strength isn't much different and Pitt is their best win.

Louisville is ranked #35 in the AP and #38 in the coaches. The only coach to vote for them in the top 25 was their own. There's no argument for them because they aren't in the discussion.
