Not overly concerned. Thought the teams and the game were closer than the final score. Pitt has not seen a team close to that yet, so it was valuable. Of course they came out and started strong, which was surprising. Just thought Florida was deeper and more mature. More poised. In no world can Pitt close out the first half like that. Feel like that is where the game changed. Similar to NFL teams, they love to dominate that middle four. Meaning the last couple minutes of the half and then the first part of second half if they get the ball back. If you can control those two little stretches and double dip, it is huge. Pitt failed to close out the half and it backfired.

Not sure I understand the trapping and attention on the block. When Pitt doubles it tends to leave them scrambling and struggling to recover. Especially at this stage, the rotations just aren't good enough. I would rather force a big at this point to make a move and finish a two than an easy kick for a three. Just think they have to be careful until this group has more time together and it improves.

Blake was not good. You live or die with him and I understand that, but just way too many poor decisions. Makes it tough on a coach. I understand reeling him and trying to control it, but where is the balance when he makes a 40 foot three in rhythm? It is like a gift and curse. He really has to be careful putting the ball on the floor. Still. If the other team has a decent front court, he has no chance to finish around the rim. He just doesn't have any lift.

Too any difficult shots for Bub. He was obviously a focus for Florida. Would just like to see Bub get to the rim more. He is capable against anyone. Moving the ball more and then attacking would help. He also has to stay on his feet more. He is going to get a rep for flopping and flailing. For his first time in that atmosphere, thought he was completely fine.

Thought Leggett was really good. A few unforced turnovers but part of that was game flow. They were just chasing the game at one point and trying to have a 10 point possession.

Thought Zack was fine and have to admire what he brings, but he has to knock a shot down here and there. Right now, he isn't even close. His release has never looked more off. He is literally shooting curve balls at the rim. His elbow is coming too far across and he is really fighting it. I like what he brings but he is killing the spacing.

They need so much more from this front court. That was their first big test and they got destroyed. Now that is a good front court and probably one of the better ones they will see all season, but they have to compete. That was too freshmen a lot of the time too, has nothing to do with experience and strength. I'm afraid that in these types of games, the twins can too easily get sped up and out of control.

A lot of things to take from this game. By no means devastating or overly concerning. We knew some of the weak spots going in. Pitt just got sped up and there were stretches where they got away from their offense. They have to stop looking to officials and running their sets with more physicality and purpose. At a faster rate. They learned that so let's see how they put it into practice.

This Oregon State game is a must win. No doubt about it. Pitt is better and they cannot afford to come home from Brooklyn winless. With Missouri looming, get back some confidence and make corrections.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
