Previous to Saturday's games I spotlighted games the ACC had to win and games it would be nice for the ACC to win. These 7 games were important for improving perception of ACC football. The results were certainly mixed.
Games the ACC had to win:
North Carolina-Illinois Tar Heels won 48-14
Syracuse-Central Michigan The Orange won 30-27 in OT
Virginia Tech-Purdue Hokies won handily 51-24
Games it would have been nice to win:
Pitt-Iowa Pitt lost 27-24
Duke-Northwestern Duke lost 19-10
Miami-Nebraska Hurricanes won in OT 36-33
Georgia Tech-Notre Dame Yellowjackets lost 30-22
Bottom Line:
Based on Saturday's games the perception of ACC football most likely did not change.
