UVA tried to allow us back into the game and we refused their offer. The missed free throws were an obvious problem.
UVA is a very impressive defensive team and they defend very very well at the rim. So in that stretch where we forced them to come up empty 8 or 9 times in about 11 possessions we continued to do every thing we could to drive the ball right into their defensive strength. Pitt needed to work to get that mid range jumper going. The game was there for the taking but we shot ourselves in the foot too many times by forcing things we had no reason to believe we could do.
This was a game that all of us had written in as a loss practically all year. It is not a season killing loss. Syracuse does become a huge game on Saturday as does every game remaining on our schedule.
