For those asking what excuse would emerge

What a loser
I do not understand how anyone thought he made less excuses and was more of a stand up guy than Stallings.

Coaches that have coached 20 years in one place, have made fewer excuses than this guy has in four.

His own excuse making is not enough. He has surrogates echoing and amplifying.

Not going down without a fight, are you? ;)

Anything to the Beilein talk? Risking another burn out?

Great technical coach though. You know I like coaches that coach.

All I can say is I guess we will find out. I hate to quote Paul Ziese, but he once did offer one pearl of wisdom. He said: "when it comes to coaching searches, everyone is lying."

One other thing I should add. Remember when Richie Walsh went out on the a limb saying that Sean Miller was going to be coming here as coach? Well, alllow me to add that I was getting the exact same information from two different and totally trustworthy "sources." One of them was sending me texts that whole day with the play by play. Stuff like "Sean is now on his way to tell his team he is leaving."

I know this person was not trolling me -- this was the info this person had.

About a year after all of this, I talked to someone who knows Sean very well -- talks to him at least once a week. He told me that Sean told him that he absolutely positively NEVER spoke to anyone from Pitt during that entire time.

So I've kinda learned just to sit back and wait to see what happens.

Sure, but to be honest, it's really giving you a much, much worse look than you know. Both have been failures as coaches. Can't we just leave it at that and let it go?
I am perfectly fine with both failed and leaving it that. Tell Joe.

Right. Thanks for the reply.

OK, then let's all sit back and wait and see what happens. It should be an interesting off season for Pitt hoops. Maybe. I hope.

Zeise is wrong about a lot of things, but no one can question his credentials when it comes to covering coaching searches

I’m shocked you didn’t provide the full context. SHOCKED. He’s full of excuses at times, but not here.

I guess you did not click on the link to read the full conversation. Or even click on replies.

it included all that you posted.

Is that full context or not?

I won’t bother responding to Souf

I think you deliberately misrepresented the quote to try and push a false narrative because you are, by your own admission, trying to make a childish point rather than engaging in any good faith discussion.

PS - Nothing you post about Capel will change the fact that Stallings is the worst hire in Pitt sports history.

Faced with truth, you would rather continue to “think” otherwise.

What does that say about you?

It wasn’t full disclosure. Stop with the nonsense. You know everyone is gonna read what you posted and no more.

You framed it to further your agenda which has no impact. No more no less.

There is only one person totally ignoring truth .
It’s the guy with a history of it .

I’m being direct , so you don’t read subliminal meaning to my words

If you are looking for context, maybe you should have paid attention to this as well:

Yea move the goalposts. Stallings stallings stallings.

Your OP was framed in such a way to make it look like Capel brought this up on his own for an excuse for another garbage performance. And that wasn’t the case.

I’m wrong plenty on here and real life. But I know total utter horsesh** when I see it. And your responses are an enormous pile.

Femi today echoing that Capel’s presence at practice brings energy and that it was missing this past week. I Don’t think playing defense out of position allowing open uncontested 3’s trip after trip is a good reflection of how you’re being coached. The battle cry from Capel is that Pitt has to hang its hat on defense. Point being a coach’s scheme/philosophy should be burned into his team whether the coach is there or not. It’s February and this team has now played together for months.

The only truth I see is that your OP is deliberately misleading and you have admitted you are being purposefully disingenuous to drive a narrative.

I added nothing to this thread to move the goalposts after your critique.

Everything I pointed out to you was already in the thread. You just needed to read it and not willingly look past it.

When did I ever say I was being purposely disingenuous?

Capel was asked specifically by a reporter what contact he has had with the team. He answered the question and said 10:15 AM before the game was the first time he'd seen the team since Sunday. Would you have preferred he said no comment or just lied?

Capel isnt a good basketball coach but he's also not the devil.

Any chance the question itself was more an effort to provide support than elicit information?

Particularly taking into consideration the questioners pinned tweet.

See I believe this

It is an Excuse if you make it or someone makes it for you.

Craig Meyer needs to quit playing the race card to try and get pub for his tweets and articles. It's really old and also not relevant.

Coaching hires should be color blind. He thinks color has to be considered. That's a racist comment.
