For those asking what excuse would emerge

Craig Meyer needs to quit playing the race card to try and get pub for his tweets and articles. It's really old and also not relevant.

Coaching hires should be color blind. He thinks color has to be considered. That's a racist comment.
I like Craig a good bit. He works hard and does not just regurgitate Pitt SID handouts.

He has seemed to have a recent tendency to engage in political and social commentary. I have advised him, in my opinion, that brings more trouble than it is worth for someone in his position.

He seems intent on ignoring that advice.

Fascinating. Do you give the same advice to Paul Zeise?

I usually like his coverage of Pitt as well. But I agree that bringing politics or social issues into sports shouldn't be part of his commentary. He needs to leave that up to others. Especially in the case of race issues. No place for that kind of discussion in this case.

I believe Paul has some aspirations to do that kind of commentary. May be auditioning for it at the moment.

As far as I know, Craig has not appeared on KDKA radio or anywhere else doing social and political commentary.

The man has the right to handle his Twitter account any way he wants and to be fair to him, as far as I can see, at this point it has not brought him a lot of grief.

Craig is willing to engage in any discussion he originates. He is not thin skinned like Chris Dokish that blocks anyone that disagrees with him.

I have had a long and good relationship with Craig, both on his public Twitter account and direct messages. He has never been anything less than professional.

So you’ll give Zeise a pass. Hm. Why’s that?
