For those of us that hated Jeff Long's "Angry Seal" logo...

Actually one of our recruits parents had the panther seal with script pitt. I certainly hope it was some knock off and not a preview of what to expect branding wise

Horrible job. Fortunately for them, it is just secondary logo so people won't see it very often.

It actually looks nice IMO. And it is probably just an alternate. It would look good on a blue football helmet. Kentucky's always just had a "UK" on their unis right?

Basically it's just old people that never like anything a little different. I wonder if the Pitt fans that where like 60 years old when they unveiled the "Pitt Script" logos in the early '70s hated it?

Puke. Bad is bad. I don't care what age you are. I hope this isn't foreshadowing what we might get.

But the Kentucky thing is not really bad, just a matter of opinion.

I think age does have something to do with it. some people get upset when a team changes a long standing logo or uniform.

IMHO, I thought the seal panther was no worse of a logo than the torch-cut panther logo. Since this script was not coming back anytime soon, at that point, I was indifferent with that change/reversal.

Age has nothing to do with it.

Having two functioning eyeballs is what matters.

But the point is, and I can't understand why people are so DENSE about something like this, but YOU HATE THIS, but others don't, including the person who drew it and the people who chose to use it, the way you speak about it, is like you are the overarching authority over what's good and what's bad.

I read an article about what Michigan State's hoop coach said, when alumni complained about the lime green alternate uniforms, basically that he "cares what 17 year olds think more than 80 year olds".

I love "The Who" my daughter thinks it's garbage, asks me if she can plug in her music, typically for a 14 year old it's some boring, nondescript rap or pop songs that suck, I tell her that those songs will be forgotten 5 months from now, and people will be listening to The Who still 50 years from now... She doubts it! It's all opinion based stuff.

New uniform colors, logos, etc don't bother me in general. I just find the new Kentucky logo a particularly poor design, as was the Seal. I just don't think it has anything to do with my age.

No problem with re-branding if it's done well. this particular one steals directly from a conference mate with the checkerboard and puts in a Division II level animal head logo.

True, and the real problem is that original or earlier logos were made to look like the intended mascot (or whatever) but eventually, in order to call it "new" or creative, some artist gets paid to draw a "new" beaver which looks nothing like the many "beavers" which the masses have seen in photos, paintings, or out in the wild.
