Forget COVID

Yes. Ithiel Horton is Ray Allen. Nike is Ja Morant. Hugley is Charles Barkley reincarnated. Amadasun reminds everyone of a young Mutumbo. Collier is the purple guy from the MONSTARs. And Femi is a mix between Lebron, Jordan and God.

I heard the same.

I wonder how this will impact our minutes distribution projections?

Wow sounds good !

But Ray Allen is out of eligibility !

As is Ja Morant !

Charles Barley is way too fat to run or jump .

A young Mutumbo won’t be ready to contribute until he’s at least 18 .

No matter how you mix Lebron , Jordon and God their way too old to play college ball . (35 , 57 , 3350 )

This is great info coming from a guy who knows everything !

Take heart. All of our recruits gave grown 5 inches since enrolling. Hugley and Collier are both now 7-2, Amadasun is 7-3, Odukale is 6-10, our other guy, Will Jeffress is now 7-0. We will go undefeated.

So now we don't have any guards again. Sigh.

It's pouring as usual at Pitt and the glass is once again half empty..

Hilarious. But what is your problem?

????? It’s a joke. Lighten up. People don’t need to be offended by every joke.

obviously no one knows anything from practice other than what the staff would leak. There’s no media at practice.
I wasn't offended at all by the joke. But it seems you want to project a negative attitude about most things, that's all. No one is allowed to be positive or hopeful.

I talked to capel a month back, he said it's going good. That's a my input.

I don’t care if you’re positive or hopeful. That’s your business.

The fact that it bothers you that I’m actually realistic when I post says more about you than me. It’s not my problem you can’t handle reality instead of fantasies where Pitt improves in a vacuum.

I remember thinking the Dixon era was tight lipped. This administration may be even moreso. Nothing wrong with that. I do think it’s dangerous for them to do that and then come out with statements about how good guys are based on practices and set unrealistic expectations. That’s the basis of my above hilarious joke.

The problem is that conjecture on your part isn't reality, it is still conjecture. Anything you say about what happens in the future is opinion and conjecture, not reality. That's by definition. Same for me.

Lol ok. Sorry I’ll start believing Ithiel Horton is the best scorer in the ACC because coach and X said so when he wasn’t the best in the CAA. Lol

When did anyone say that?
Capel went on to say that Horton typically mimics the upcoming opponent’s top guard in practice, giving defenders like Johnson and sophomore Trey McGowens a realistic look at the players they’ll be guarding.

“I tell our guys that, if you can guard him in practice, I haven’t seen a better guy in this league that they will have to guard,” he said.

That is some high praise.
I just want an effecient deep ball threat.
But I've watched him alot and see some really nice potential.
I think if he can develop a respectable driving threat then he'll eventually be really good because i believe the speed is there but he'll have to show me some toughness.

Sure. I agree with you 100 percent. My joke/pessimism come in that Capel has said the bar way too high for this kid and he’s gonna come under it and be a “disappointment” while still being a pretty good player.

When guys are sitting out, they have no pressure of earning playing time, competing for time and don’t worry about mistakes. And often coaches will overlook a lot of bad shots and mistakes and only remember the great plays. Often leads to trouble this way. It’s why I’ve cautioned against and tempered my expectations for what he’ll do.

Yeah I'm not putting super high expectations on anyone that's a quick path to disappointment

Just asking but did you ever entertain the possibility that the guy is actually pretty good? That is yet to be seen.

So you went from questioning whether it had been said to instantly defending the comment. Lmao.

He very well may be a great player. Most guys who transfer up average less than half of what they did at their previous school. 1/20 don’t. Did we win win the lottery? Remains to be seen. Certainly high expectations based on being as good as any scorer in a league that produced several 1st round draft picks.

Well am glad you at least gave him a chance. Now make sure you root for him to fail like a good little malcontent.
I don’t need to root against him. It’s painfully obvious he’s not nearly as good as Capel made him out to be and this whole board bought Capel’s act. Can’t wait to hear how good Nike is all season!

Are you old enough to remember Brandin Knight's debut?

Yeah. I’m old enough to remember when we were relevant. Unfortunately, we’re so far from being relevant. also, Horton is in his THIRD year of college and couldn’t do shit against a bottom tier NEC team.

We’re actually the national joke. Worst loss of opening day in year 3. Rinse and repeat. HL has an absolute mess on her hands with the only two important sports.

Just trying to be real. One game doesn't mean Horton can't play. Knight looked lost for most of his Freshman year.

I don’t see how they’re even in the ballpark in terms of comparisons. Knight was a freshmen. Horton is a junior who practiced with the team all last year.

Horton can shoot. I'm 100% sure of that.
He should've been letting it fly from deep early. They were letting him open from a range he can hit. But as i was concerned he probably is terrible on defense. So if he aint letting it fly then he's useless. He'll get there on offense but he might have trouble getting big minutes if he's a liability on D.
