Former 5 star Max Browne visiting Panthers this weekend

Whoever we have on staff that can recruit, have him on this visit the whole time. I don't even know who this is on our staff

Not a grad transfer so he wouldn't play until 18, right?
He's a grad transfer. Currently trying to get his masters at USC. Also slow as a snail. Makes tom Brady look fast. Very rough at decision making. Not sure if it was the fit there or not, peterman certainly wasn't blowing anyone away at Tennessee either, but I'm not sold. Best QB recruit coming out of high school or not. Hope he does well and I'm wrong, but...

What? Aren't any of our usual suspects going to call Closet Nitter on this opinion?

Basically would fill hole by the other guy leaving. Definitely helps.
Yeah but those guys will be looking to go where they stand a good shot of starting after they sit a year. TMac is not a lock but he is clearly being groomed to be the heir apparent as things stand. If he hasn't established himself as The Man by the 2018 season, we're in trouble.

IMO the staff's aggressive pursuit of transfer qbs is a sign that they lack confidence in TMAC being given the keys next season.

LOL.

Yeah, a RS freshman with zero experience and two other guys who haven't taken a snap is always a great option. No one should ever consider how a transfer with actual game experience and a pedigree could be helpful.

Jesus.

Once again, it might be just me, I would just like to read from the Lair Posters what they think about How OC Canada thinks about USC's Max and ND Zaire, and whether Canada can develop either of them into Instant QB that can run Canada's Offense like Peterman did this year.

If Narduzzi and Canada think a New Experienced Transfer can instantly keep the Offense going, then I am for them, but I would love to read the Posts from Posters that look at it from a Canada's perspective and speculate if that would be better than staring a New Inexperience QB in Mac or DiNucci?

The last few comments were helpful in this discussion because it addresses whether Pitt needs a transfer or can Canada develop a transfer easier for 2017? I don't have a clue and why I am asking for others to discuss it that do even more?

Not that Pitt will be able to choose whichever option they want, but I would much prefer Zaire over Browne.

Zaire looked much better on the field when they both had their chances. Something about Browne just never clicked at USC, all that talent around him and he always looked pedestrian at best to me. I think Zaire has a chance to be dynamic running Pitt's offense.

Reading this post is hilarious, typical board responses, thankfully not the thoughts of pitt fans and most people in real life.

Maybe Narduzzi already knows Zaire is not a possibility.

I didn't realize Browne was a grad transfer, I thought he had another year at USC. That makes a lot more sense for him and Pitt both then. I'm sure TMAC could use another year, or at least someone to compete with him in practice. One thing is for certain--Browne is not looking for a backup job, he has a good one already.

I can say with confidence your post is idiotic...
Can you say backup.
So you think Browne or Zaire are looking to grad transfer somewhere to be backups? You think that;s what the coaches are telling them as they recruit them to Pitt? Do you think the Pitt coaches are lying to them?

the "slow as nails" description doesn't sound too promising.. I always thought a more athletic QB would do better in this type of offense.

Well Zaire is the better player and fit, clearly. He would probably still be the starter at ND if not for all his injuries. But he is also the guy EVERYONE wants. UNC is a QB's dream offense, and Chryst has a lot to sell at Wisky as well given the Russell Wilson grad year.

Yep. Peterman has shown the ability the make plays with his legs when everything else breaks down . That's why Zaire would be an incredible fit for this offense.

YOU GUYS ARE COMPLETE MORONS.

Max Browne 40 speed : http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=126744&draftyear=2018&genpos=QB

Malik Zaire 40 speed : http://www.espn.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/combine/_/id/128678/malik-zaire

My god do at least an internet search before calling out someone as slow.

I mean I know some of this is pennst fans with pitt handles, but the crap spin put on every recruit is nuts. We are interested in Zaire, Browne, Cornwell, and probably a few others. These guys were 5 freaking star recruits, and Narduzzi has them at least hearing Pitt. TMac looks great, but I would much rather him have a year as the actual back-up, especially with his lack of experience even at the hs level. But, it will be a QB competition at the very least.

We WILL get a grad transfer, and we would be very lucky if its Max Browne

Don't know why he would do this since Bama is the No. 1 team in the country with a true freshman as first string qb.

I literally have no idea what you mean by this. Can you, are Captain Sidney, since he 'liked it' please explain what you mean by this? I would think what you said is THE REASON he wants to transfer... what am I missing?

Also looks like we may meet with David Cornwell from Alabama
Browne is worth the shot. Cornwell is not. He wasn't even considered for Alabama's QB spot and has huge majority issues, plus helicopter parents. I'm not sure Cornwell was even the #4 QB this year at UA if it came down to that.

Well, I dont know how good he is, I like Bama, and follow them, and havent heard much about him.

What I mean is, I had no idea what his message meant, do you? And I think he would want to transfer because he has a true freshman ahead of him. The poster asked why he would want to transfer because alabama is the #1 team and only a freshman is ahead of him?? I didnt understand what that meant

Yeah, we don't want him. It would be a huge waste of a scholarship.

Well... sure, that goes without question, I mean, who would possibly think the #3 QB in the country in his class with size and speed would possibly help the Pitt team? And, the term 'we'... good to know you speak for everyone.

I personally would think anyone but Dak Prescott being Pitt's QB next season would be a fail, totally get your point.

Yeah, he was, at best, the #4 QB at Alabama with absolutely no chance in a 3 horse QB competition that went on through the first few games. He had literally no shot.

You can believe whatever you want. I have seen him in practices and scrimmages and know the off field issues he had. Ignorance is bliss, I guess. If he gets another school to pay him to get a masters degree, hats off to him for playing the system and another fanbase that is absolutely clueless.

There was a lot of hesitation on this board when Peterman and Savage were brought into the program, and those moves have turned out very well.

Browne, Zaire, etc. could be next in line in successful graduate transfers.
