Franklin Did His Best 'Brady Hoke' Impersonation today

The faithful on the PSU board (I've been banned so I refuse to use its name) seem surprised that JF is a bad, bad, bad game-day coach. This Penn State team, based today's loss to Temple, appears to be a carbon copy of last year: OL stinks, QB is beyond a stinker, play calling stinks, defense can't compensate for the bad offense. I thought I was watching Michigan and Brady Hoke against Temple. But, hey, Joe would have loved the new back-to-the-basics unis with NO NAMES on the back? Watching that Penn State game when I got home made me forget -- at least for awhile -- what I saw at Heinz today.

I found myself laughing on almost every Penn State offensive play in the second half. It was like Jay had returned to call the plays. Just like Hoke -- no imagination!

Franklin can hype his new recruits and his team all he wants. Bottom line, the guy doesn't do a very good job on Saturday. I'm not sure who quit first today, the OL or the QB.

Wow Pitt wins a football game and there are 13 threads on Penn State losing a game.This has to be an all-time record for this board?My opinion of PSU is Franklin stunk it up yesterday on the sidelines,Donovan stunk it up in the press box,the O-line stunk it up on the field,and Hack isn't very good.Plus their defense lost their best linebacker for the year,who was playing better than anyone when he got hurt.James loves to talk the talk but hasn't walked the walk,yet!He created an image that puts him in the spotlight but yesterday he showed the old deer in the headlight look!Kick him when he's down because maybe he won't be down there long,then again he might stay down there,time will tell!bwdik

Franklin is a bad game day coach. Always has been and I've said that since they hired him. He is a recruiter and motivator, but stinks on game day. You can chest bump so many times before you actually have to make an adjustment. PSU fans are already starting to say that about him. Even the Philly media said it. That's why I shook my head when he got hired and started making guarantees. He has no track record to back it up and he set himself up to fail. He's the guy in college who constantly says he hooks up with a lot of women; which means he doesn't. They guy Who doesn't mention it gets a different one every night.

If you look at his track record, he has been responsible for a lot of average. Basically, other than winning a few games at Vandy against bad teams, he's done nothing. He wasn't even a good QB coach or offensive coordinator.

They got manhandled by Temple, which my brother predicted a month ago (he played at Temple for a few years and is beyond realistic about them). He doesn't like PSU, either, but has to hear about them constantly, so he has a good sense of what they are.

We looked shaky against YSU but we won. We also had some positives and played a lot of backups. What positives did PSU have? None.
