I have a lot of respect for Hoiberg, but he was lousy today. I realize Niang has carried them all season, but he was horrible today, yet they kept going to him over and over again down the stretch when it was obvious that he was flustered and just throwing stuff up. ISU has more than enough weapons to compensate for a bad game by Niang, but they kept going to him anyway.

I know this is all fun and games when these things happen, but again Pitt has not beaten a higher seed in 10 tries under Jamie. So when other teams fail, and if it makes you feel better to poke fun at them fine. But that doesn't change things, and certainly doesn't make me feel any better as a Pitt fan.

Just trying to disseminate some reality here. We never have had any time on that "ONE SHINING MOMENT" highlight reel, except on the wrong end.

Actually, that's not technically true after last year. Seems silly to consider the 8/9 as a high low matchup, but if the Pitt Pacific game in 05 is included in JD's record against better seeds, last year counts too.

It was a meaningless thing for people to rant about, anyway.
I'd hope Pitt rarely gets a chance to beat higher seeded teams in the tournament- because I want to be seeded high, and I want to face lower seeded teams.

well, for all of the shortcomings Pitt has had in the tourney, Pitt has never laid a round 1 bomb like Iowa St (and Baylor) did.

I may be wrong, but personally I think the main point of these threads is not to make fun of Iowa State, but to make fun of ignorant posters who constantly proclaim Pitt/Dixon as "boring", and that Pitt/Dixon need to adopt a "more fun" style like Iowa State.
