So I have been thinking besides Dunn why has this offense looked so blah the last 2 games and more than even the 3 point percentage to me it is the FT attempted. In the first 8 games Pitt averaged 21.75 attempts a game, and the last two games they are 12.5. The three games I think we would all agree the offense looked the most stagnant is Wisconsin, Miss St, and VT. I do believe that the lack of 3s being hit is contributing to this though because Ish and Lowe are getting trapped and the bigs are being tagged high by the FT line if not 3 point arc on rolls. When we were shooting better to start the year these guards were getting down hill with dudes on their backs and teams in poor rotations. For the year they are making 15.3 attempts per game on 19.9 attempts or 77% year to date. They have 3 gurads (when Dunn is healthy) that all should be taking 5+ FT a game by themselves. I know the next two are buy games and we should win no matter the FTs attempted, but I am interested to see if Pitt can get back to the 20-30 FT a game.
