Free throw shooting can be taught...

I was a horrible free throw shooter in high school. So bad in fact that I even tried the old granny style. Quite embarrassing actually.

A teammate of mine showed me proper hand placement and said that free throw shooting was more of a push than a shot. Pushing the ball allows it to land softly on the rim. Sounded strange to me but with the hand adjustments and not “flicking my wrist”, I became an 80% free throw shooter.

It can be done. Someone needs to focus on this aspect. It has cost them games his year.
