With 4 games to go(including the bowl), will we see any new Freshmen against UNC?

So far four have lost their redshirt. Obiviously VinceDavis who has appeared in seven games, Brandon George 7, AJ Woods 6 and Sir Vocea Dennis 5. Wide Receiver Jarred Wayne is at four, defensive back Brandon Hill 3, lb Leslie Smith 2 and running back Daniel Carter has appeared in two but has yet to rush the ball.

Looks accurate!

Carter is working on his pass blocking and once he gets that down, he will carry the rock!

Problem is the next three games will be tight and you just know certain Duzz's body parts will be tight and clenched meaning no freshmen reps.

Daniel Carter was in yesterday in the fourth.

Seems odd to blow Woods' redshirt so he could stand there watching kickoffs land in the EZ.

Actually if you pay attention he’s on the coverage units as well, the kid flies down the field typically drawing a double team freeing up others to make tackles. George and Dennis play on coverage teams also. George made a couple of nice plays yesterday. Dennis played some at LB vs Ohio and gave up a big pass because he read the coverage wrong. But PN has talked how he is mature and an athletic freak. Both should have a shot to be backup LBs next year and earn decent PT.

Wow, didn’t realize that many freshmen were playing that regularly on special teams.

Dennis played a lot on defense in several games when guys went down with injuries.

The kid is going to be a player. We have some athletic LBs who can really run and Dennis is just as athletic as those guys. All he lacks is experience. Next year our starting outside LBs will be Campbell and Bright. Yes they mainly share the Star spot but Campbell has played a little at the Money spot and was playing there in camp before Johnson got settled in. I think Dennis will claim one of the backup outside LB spots and get nice PT next year.

If they are going to burn B. George’s ship, then I’d be curious to see if he could play FB this year. He might be able to help the run game.

good point about him at FB. The kid is versatile and can play several spots. Carter was in there a little as a lead blocker, he’s a big kid. Maybe down the road he develops into a power back who can move the chains.

Hard to argue with defensive personal choices at this point.....ie countless d line and 2ndary players having success. plus guys need film to review and show things to work at/on
