Well I could not pass up going to the local sports pub today to get the local perspective on the departure of Steve Spurrier from the Gamecocks. Seems most are still in love with the guy (and why not he's won more games for USC than any other coach). Few seemed to share my view that resigning mid-season is basically quitting. What coach ever would want to instill the notion in his players that it's good to just quit when things are going badly? I figured the HBC would go on his own terms at the end of the season but quitting on his players mid-season sends a terrible message IMHO. What think ye?
