Gable Dan Steveson

I've been wondering why his parents didn't name him Dan Gable Steveson. My best guess is that they were hedging their bets just in case he grew up wanting to be a Drum Major instead of a wrestler. For a Drum Major, it would be easier to hide the fact that he was named for a wrestler by naming him Gable Dan than the reverse. But if he turned out to be a wrestler, they could proudly point out that he is named for Dan Gable.

Because gable is a cool ass first name. Plus there’s no “hedging their bets”. If you’re obsessed enough to name you’re kid after Dan Gable then you’re going to raise the kid to be a freaking wrestler lol. I don’t figure he had much choice in the matter lol.
