The only group with net disapproval for handling of coronavirus issue. The media.
Based on 536 people. LOL. Who exactly were the people they asked? Does Trump or the Republican Party pay you? If not, they should.
Do you know who Gallup is?
based on Most of his posts it’s not surprising he’d make a comment like that.
I beat him up a couple of days ago. He seems to be on a vendetta to pay me back. Making inane posts like he did won't work.
logic and reason have no place for some.
this thread should put specialsauce into perspective. He’s whining about not getting a 1200 check because he and wifey make almost 200k.
It's pretty bad when Congress outpolls you. It would be like Pitt losing to Slippery Rock in football.
Wow. That's quite a thread. I never go to the football board so I missed that.
You're not missing anything. I usually find the football board is useless for intelligent conversation, for the most part.
And what normal, intelligent individual who has a family income of over $200K would think they deserve a check from the government? Seriously? If I were him, I'd give it right back to them to be used for more deserving people.
Not enough people polled to use this but the one thing that sticks out is the approval of state government! Listening to some governors it made me wonder how they were even elected. This virus exposed how bad some of the state's governors are as they had a national stage and had to speak to the masses.
Actually, it's just 536 respondents to the question of their employer. And 262 to the question of their child's school. But it does seem kind of odd that Gallup would publish a poll with so few respondents.
The entire polling process must change and modernize.
We're a nation of 350mill people (people-for some that's a stretch), we allow polls with polling samples of under 1,000 respondents drive our opinions, and help us decide who to vote for.
Polls today are worthless to start with Dems are over sampled and pollsters can slant the polls anyway they want by influencing the samples.
Practically every poll for every major political event was wrong with these two representing the largest margin of error.
Trump Clinton Election
How about using technology and sample 10k, 20k, or maybe 50k people for polls from across the country!
No sense getting this right or as close to right as possible?
I think part of the problem is getting 1)people to respond
And 2), being sure the people that do respond are properly weighted.
I've done 2 and missed 1.
They were both on my land line (because it comes with my TV and Internet package) and I called back
I'm part of the problem, I'd never respond to a pollster. I'll read things (like this board) because I'm interested in other people's viewpoints, but I'm not interested in just seeing if the masses agree or disagree with me.
Overall, are polls a good thing or a bad thing? They just seem like something to draw readers, like articles ranking movies or golf courses or rock bands.
Ehh,who knows ? I had the time and didn't think of it that deeply.
It took 3 minutes so I just went ahead and did it.
I don't even think I ever checked the polls I did tbh.
