1) Jockey the flying Frenchman .lots of catches and a kick return

2) cam Bright. Leading tackler and has REALLY taken a big step

3) Vardzell. Only 1 catch, a punt return, one fair catch. Also wisely got away from a punt rather than try something stupid. His first time under the bright lights and he answered the bell without changing the game with a turnover.

4) Pickett. His numbers last night only show half of it. His poise, toughness and leadership were excellent.

5) finally, Whipple.

I'm guessing Mack Brown thought we would try and keep Howell off the field and run it. Instead Pickett comes out slinging. But look at Picketts play, ignoring stats for a moment.

Flushed out of the pocket, he ran when he could and threw it away when he had to. That's growth in a QB. I dont think the kid was sacked last night.

An OC is alot like a GM in baseball. Some trades (play calls) work out and some dont. Every now and then a trade (play) is a blockbuster.

The bomb to jockey was just that. Terrific call and picketts pass was a thing of beauty.

Whipple has done very well with the material he has. This may have been his best game yet even without FFrench and Sibley.

I really don't like Whipple's offense, but it has been as good as other schemes given the offense's level of talent.

One other major positive (6) the outstanding play of the offense in the OT period. Pitt looked confident, executed well and made clutch plays.

I would go with Pickett, Twyman Alexandre.

Pickett look like he did at Pedst (pre-UCF injury). Actually he looked better on his longer pass attempts. This is the first where he consistently was putting air under the ball verse trying to put everything on a line.

Twyman was huge being in on 3 sacks.

Finally, Alexandre was huge in overtime making tackles and disrupting 2 pass attempts- the 2nd one might have been the game winner.

I'll take it one step further.

Charlie Partridge never gets talked about here, but he is the DL coach and look what he has built. If ever an assistant deserves an award its this guy.

I hope we can keep him. But I cant help but think with his performance coupled with his Florida recruiting he may first to get a better gig.

I damn sure hope not.

One more thought, the Oline played one of their better games as well.

KP was still chased out of the pocket quite a bit. But interesting that both Houy and Van Lynn got playing time at OT, at least that’s how it looked to me...

Go Pitt.

I heard Kenny on the post game show while driving home from the game. He said this is the best he's felt since getting hurt in the UCF game. Not 100%, but felt good enough to tell Whip he was good for some running plays.

Kenny played really well. He was on the money early and was looking to sling it downfield. He ran when he needed to. Still victimized by drops.

Maybe the Ffrench injury was a blessing in disguise since they weren't focused on throwing him 2 yard passes all day. It also forced some other guys into the lineup who look like they bring different skills than Ffrench.

KP looked as calm in the pocket in the first half as he’s been all year He was looking down field and was very accurate. Got a little antsy in the second half but made the plays needed in OT

gotta hope that carries over

agree that not having Ffrench in May have been beneficial. They seemed to move the ball really well with Wayne Iin the game
