had the pleasuree(except for the last 2 seconds) of being at the game last night. Without a doubt, the 3 biggest positives were: Pitt played the most physical game I've seen a Pitt team play in decades-reminiscent of the glory days; second, the team didn't wilt in the face of adversity and tied the game in a drive conducted in the most hostile environment you could confront; and third, I believe the QB shuffle is over and that Peterman can be a pretty solid performer.
I think Pitt wins this game if played later in the season when offensively they should be much better. To give Iowa credit their QB played a hell of a game- he made several big Plays. He has a nice arm and good pocket presence.

Things which need to improve over the course of the year: gotta run better inside but this will require not only better blocking but also using short passing better to loosen up the other team 's LBs(where are the slot receivers)who last night had nothing to be concerned about but the run; perhaps a little less use of blitzing in long yardage situations-got to the point where Pitt got too predictable and Iowa cashed in on well run screens; the middle LB play is hurting this D-TE open all night, QB sneaks going for 3-4 yards and QB scrambles up the gut; development of an offensive identity and more diversity on O-screens, passes to the slot R. And passes to someone not named Boyd.

Only other thoughts: shame we didn't cash in on the drive which ended with the interception in the end zone; use of Olleson was puzzling and hurt the team; have to go for that 4th down and inches-it was literally inches which you should make with a sneak-Pitt's call showed a real lack of confidence in theO and a bit too much confidence in the D.

I had never seen a 57 yard FG before-what luck!

We beat VT and it could be a very good year.
