Well, the excitement around Pitt football sure came to a crashing halt today. Actually, it was a good reality check for those who thought our defense was good (I was not one of them).
A few observations:
The good:
1. I suppose you could say that the team never quitting was a positive. That's a stretch but all we've got.
2. Jester Weah actually caught a ball and scored.
The bad:
1. Holy crap were our DB's bad. I mean pathetic. Avonte Maddox is burnt toast. The rest of the DB's were not much better. Honestly, I have never ever seen receivers so wide open for an entire game.
2. Our Oline really didn't open many holes. OSU was much quicker and stronger.
3. Our LB's did pretty much nothing.
4. Peterman stunk.
5. Our Dline got very little pressure, even when we blitzed.
I'm actually surprised the game was even close. We have a long, long, long way to go to compete against quality teams with talent.
