Are we attempting to set a defensive record for uncontested 3's allowed???
So far, poor rebounding is hurting us. Too many second chances already for GT.
They are already outrebounding us 18-12. They've gotten six out of 14 on our defensive glass, which I guess is better than against Duke, but it's still not good at all.
We have become undisciplined garbage. Shot selection sucks or they just chuck it up with no ball movement and defense appears optional. Plus we cannot rebound, and Georgia Tech doesn't have Duke's size. A good team would be up on GT by 10 already.
Elliot blows. If he can't make shots, he gives you nothing. We are taking mostly contested 3's with hands in our face, while they are taking 3's with no one near them.
Really a disgusting effort on the glass. Leads to another uncontested three from GT. We need to improve this quickly.
FWIW, that isn't true. We beat them the first time we played them on the road in the ACC in 2014. 1-7 overall.
What is true is that we have never beaten them at McCamish. We are 0-5 there.
Give me anyone but Elliot. He is awful, and he doesn't defend. This team is its own worst enemy. They don't defend hard, and they don't bust their ass to get rebounds, they just stand and watch. I often wonder why horrible 3 pt. shooting teams shoot well against us. They are 8 of 19 from 3, well above their average. Turns out, we don't guard them from 3 while other teams do.
Yep, those are the key plays that are keeping GT in this. One guy manages to get the ball away from 3 of ours.
Otherwise, good finish to the half. Gotta clean up the RB's. This feels like a 50/50 game right now.

Defend the three, rebound, take good shots, win by 15-20. Continue giving them open 3's and confidence, continue to get outhustled for rebounds, win by 1-3. Get sloppy with the ball this half also, lose by 1-5.

Just awful "rebounding" there by Federiko. How does he let a guy go over the top of him like that!?
Love this 2nd half defense so far. This team is not talented enough to beat us if we don't let them shoot open 3's.
They've shot three three so far, pretty much all three wide open. They just haven't made any of them. Because they aren't actually a good three point shooting team. They are unlikely to shoot threes in the 2nd half like they did in the first, and they really weren't great in the first half. Good, sure. But not great.
Do you have to be such a jackass?? Leave guys wide open like that and they make them. One was open because Nike didn't get back after the layup and the other because we can't rebound. The defense was better to start the half.
And the worst part is that it isn't their bigs dominating the glass. Their leading rebounder, with 10 already, is a 6-1 guard. He isn't getting all those rebounds because of size or great positioning, he's getting all those rebounds because he's busting his butt going after the ball.
We're winning but clearly not playing our best. Hate to say it, feels like one of those games that's going to get away from us at the end. Hope I'm wrong.
