-Oakland would erupt if he joins Ford. #1 thing is playing time. And sounds like he cooled on Ohio State. Sounds like Penn State made up ground, but massive pressure to go down to Pitt. Kick Penn State's ass and he could be ours.

Yeah ... Not feeling it with him.

Not being sour grapes, but they did a pretty good job on CBs in the last class, and with Loe in the pocket (presumably) it won't be a major blow if it does not work out with Wade.

I love Nards and believe in him and his staff, and this might be a smaller class, but it would be nice to get some more commits going.

I think we'll have another 20+ class.. We have 18 scholarship seniors to be. Maybe 1 or 2 of those guys aren't here in fall, that is still 15-16 scholarships.. Add the 1/2 dozen players that are gently nudged out and there you have it..

I didn't really look into it like that, just assumed.

Sounds plausible.

-Friends, Pitt players, Pitt coaching staff, etc... It was long said it was a two team race between Ohio State and Pitt with Penn State the 3rd wheel. He wants to enroll early, and almost makes it sound like Ohio State isnt treating him as the #1 CB in the country, Id be fairly shocked if he goes somewhere else outside those 3. Obviously anything can happen when you are an Elite player.

From the 3 minute interview, definitely sounds like PSU is the leader. Very high on Tennessee.

Sounds kinda like OSU is out. Sounds like OSU moved on to other top CBs.

Weird. I didn't listen to the interview. But your account is completely different than the OP's account. Which is hilarious. Now I am not doubting you (again I didn't and won't listen to this) but this shows in our society on how your own personal bias can completely misread things. Again, that is not aimed at you SMF, in fact I am more inclined to believe your take.

-A recruit will never admit who is leader is straight out, especially an Elite one. The first school out of Wades mouth in the second interview when asked about Pa schools was Pitt, not Penn State. Normally speaking if you know anything about reading people and body language, generally people blurb out what they like the most first, not second. That does not mean Wade is coming to Pitt 100%. It does mean he has very high interest, which was already known.

Coleman should be a player as well. Would love for Wade to commit to Pitt, but the cupboard won't be empty without him.

I'd go as far to say that if he committed here, hed probably red shirt

-If you think Wade is going to redshirt he isnt coming here. That said Wade isnt going to redshirt. But our secondary right now looks ridiculous. If Wade thinks he is the best, come in here and prove it. We have the National Freshmen of the year in Whitehead and the best prospect in PA regardless of class in Ford in my opinion, everyone wants Ford, everyone. And all the big time programs wanted Hammer Island. Wade's not scared of competition. If he is he can go to Penn State. I expect to run them off the field. Wade is a winner, he will do better than Penn State if he wants to reach greatness in the NFL. By my count Pitt is the one dominating the Pro Bowl lists in the NFL by individual players, not Penn State, and not Ohio State.

For Lamont Wade Personally.

You want to be the best right? That's the National Freshmen of the year, Jordan Whitehead. Hit the gym son, you aren't close to the best at the next level with your arms and legs. Not even close, NOT EVEN CLOSE. Now you have motivation. All the best, Wade.

What happened to the theory that the WPIAL isn't a prime recruiting ground any more? Sure are a lot of kids from around the area that are getting a ton of national attention.
It seems that people either overrate or underate the talent here when the truth is that it seems to go in cycles in the WPIAL, especially the past ten years or so...

One class might have a legit 15 D1 prospects and the the next year maybe 8.....

There are still alot of talented players here

He spoke maybe 20 words about Pitt saying they stay in touch with them, their the hometown school, Tyler made it, so can he. Sounded kinda rehearsed. He spoke longer about PSU about how they have a plan for him when he gets there. I was trying to analyze body language and it just seemed he was more positive about PSU.

It really sounded like Urban realized he was in too tough a fight with PSU and Pitt and moved on. If he misses on some kids, he'll come back to Wade.

He pretty much said his decision will be based on where he can start and best fit. He will start at Pitt and PSU so it may come down to which DC and defensive philosophy he likes best.

I dont know anyone could have thought Pitt leads after hearing those interviews. Im not saying PSU is a lock but if you are judging who leads by those interviews, its clear that if anything, Pitt doesn't lead.

I think it's fair to say we are not as adept at analyzing body language as you are SMF.

I actually agree with you here. Still think Pitt is the favorite but it seems as though Ped State has made up some ground here. OSU seems to have taken themselves out of the race because of an issue with numbers. Not to worry though, he's going to take his time before making any decisions and the Fraud in Creepy Valley will eliminate Ped State once they take the field again this fall. It's down to us and PSU but I think we'll seal the deal this fall.

Franklin grabbed talented PA Recruits talking up Penn State saying coming they would win them a NCS? But one can see talent is not his problem as much as his coaching and his Assistants left him.

Pat Narduzzi can deliver the walk not just the talk, and if the most talented recruits like Wade come to Pitt to join Whitehead, Hamlin and others on Defense Pitt can do the walk and Narduzzi developed his talent for the NFL everywhere he went as an Assistant. This is the difference as I see it.

Franklin has had to replace the Assistants that helped him win at Vandy but going up against Meyers, Ferentz, Harbaugh, Dantonio, Rhule and Narduzzi is something many do not see in 2016 or 2017 to win anywhere near a Championship a Penn State. If Franklin as expected come up short 2018 won't prove it either?

Once Recruits start to see that as they did in 2015 it won't get any better for Franklin. On the other hand, one could see how much better Coach Pat & Staff improved the Pitt Players in just the first year on all 3 Units and were competitive in more games than Franklin.

The Top PA Recruits will start to see it by staying home and going to Pitt. Pitt will make them better Football Players sooner and winning together will keep them coming to Pitt as I see it in the future.

Just my opinion, but one can see the difference in Pitt Players playing and being coached way better than what is happening at Penn State.

Coach Pat Narduzzi is a Players Coach, Franklin is a Publicity Coach.

Pictures and Tweets do not develop Talent, Coaches do it, prove it and the Players respond with Assistant Coaches that want to stay and learn under the Head Coach.

PSU Players could not wait to leave Franklin the last 2 years and Hackenberg was not the only Player complaining most just kept it quiet and left. The Assistants spoke with their feet by leaving too. The PSU Former Players Alumni are grumbling as well, they know good coaching when they see it, but are wary Franklin can't cut it.

Franklin has the talent and now claims the New Coaches can develop it, but I don't see Harbaugh, Meyer, Ferentz, Dantonio or other Big Ten Coaches worried about Franklin even with the talent.

Additionally, Rhule and Narduzzi have shown no fear of Franklin either and just focus on coaching and let Franklin pose for pictures and hold press conferences about what a good plan he has for Nittany lions future?

Smart and Smarter Recruits will choose Pitt!

No way. Not HCPNs makeup.
Agree, no Redshirt with that kind of talent. Ohio State really wants him too with WVU. The guy looks like Revis, Boyd, Whitehead, and Hamlin full of quiet confidence and focus and play multiple positions.

Don't think Penn State will be in the picture, Franklin on the Rocks and needs an Extension.

Would not be suprised if PSU became a real player in this if OSU starts to fizzle.

He's visiting PSU for their spring game this weekend. That makes 3 trips in the last 2 months. This may turn into a Pitt/PSU battle but I see this playing out the same way the Hamlin and Whitehead recruitments did. H2P.
