So, I had a crazy thought this morning. If we owe Capel 17.5M ish the next 5 years and buy him out is dumb, why not make him your basketball GM? Capel has always had an ability to identify talent before other in HS (Davis, Barlow, Champagne), and he has found some gems under the radar in the portal (JB, Mo, Hinson). I know it will never happen, but let him run the player acquisition and hire a Jerrod Calhoun to coach the team. Econ 101 shows you Capel is a sunk cost so why not try to repurpose it into something that could benefit the program. It also would get us all new assistant too. Again, it won't happen and I don't know contractually if it is even possible. I am just spit balling anything that will allow us to get out of this at this point.
