... we will see what ends up happening but if the Zags win it sure backs up the notion that experience matters.

Going to check out part of the 2nd half when I get home. Yes Duke has more talent than anyone but it’s not like the Zags are bums. They have 2 sure fire NBA players and some other real nice players.

Hachimura is a professional scorer who will most likely be a lottery pick.

But what’s surprising is the Zags are without there main big Tillie who will play in the NBA.

The transfer big Clarke is not Zion but he is a hell of an athlete.

They have a heady at PG. And Norvelle at the 2G is an NBA prospect who can fill it up.

Dont care. Hate this one and done teams. Go zags!

Anyone who thinks a college team (no matter how good that team is) could beat even the worst NBA team has no clue about BB.

I agree. I don’t think you can chalk this up largely to Gonzaga’s experience, they simply have some serious talent more than good enough to hang with Duke’s talent.

You're not wrong, although there's a huge difference between Hachimura, who will probably have a 10 year career as a solid wing player, and Barrett or Williamson who will be superstars from day one. Look at Hachimura trying to defend Barrett, it's like an NBA All Star against a 13 year old.

Then again ... talent matters too!!

Oh no way did I ever say Hachimura was at the level of Barrett or Williamson as they are freak athletes who will be the 1st and 2nd picks most likely. My point was that the Zags have talent as well. Great comeback by Duke. Should be an exciting ending.

I wasn't disagreeing with you, your point about the Zags being talented was well taken. They're definitely a top 5 team in the nation.

Barrett is something else, though. As much as I love Williamson's game, the ability to just undress a lottery pick at will is crazy. He's going at Hachimura with a relish usually reserved for the guy who has the 5'3 asian grad student guarding him during a pick up game.

Yes. Part of the reason I said Clarke is a hell of an athlete but guys like RJ and espeically Zion are on another level.

So much talent on both sides.

Clarke is a guy I wasn't all that familiar with before today, but he looks very impressive. Hope the Zags hold on, it'd be awful to play so well and then lose because you can't make a free throw.

Wow, big finish. Zags miss 4 FTs with a 2-pt lead down the stretch and still hold on with some serious defense down low. I liked that the refs let them bang instead of calling fouls on every bit of contact.

Yes he is a transfer was All conf MWC. Glad they held on after missing FT’s. Always nice to see Duke lose.

Just an incredible treat of a college basketball game.

I wanted the Zags to win, but was still hoping for Duke to tie it at the end to get five more minutes of it!!

I saw Clarke quite a bit in the Mountain West, he put up big numbers but had almost no other legitimate D1 players around him. Never really saw him as an NBA type player, but he looks better than I remember so far this year.

It’s funny how you sometimes still hear people questioning Gonzaga’s talent, despite them putting guys in the NBA every year. Add in Tillie and you have maybe 4 guys that will probably play in the league.

Zags get lots of transfers and do a good job developing them. Especially the ones who have to sit out a year unlike Sr grad transfers. Clarke developed a ton while sitting out.

Think there was poor officiating down the end of that game that cost the Blue Devils, but it was an amazing game!

On that last play it was pretty apparent that Barrett just assumed that the ref was going to bail him out. He had four Gonzaga defenders collapse on him and had at least a couple teammates wide open for easy shots but he had no intention of ever giving the ball up.

I thought the same. He kind of just plowed into the defenders assuming he would get the call.

Was a really good game to watch, Duke’s young guys will get better as they gel and Gonzaga will get better once Tillie gets back into the rotation. Both have a ridiculous amount of talent.
