Great Pitt turnout, terrific result!

Why did Miami not play Martell earlier? It seems criminal.

Good bowl win fellas

Quick message, lots of Pitt fans, they said it was a bowl record turnout. Played a gutsy game, never gave up, team played hard.

Very little penalties, Pickett played very good, and we won a bowl game!

I feel like the military bowl had to be a lot more, but stadium size could be a factor in that perception.

Great to see people going and having a good time rather than just the usual bitching about the game and location.

So we had a good pitt crowd? That’s good to hear. I couldn’t make to Detroit this time even tho I had a lot of fun the last time we went.

didn’t see the Miami game. But Martell was 1 of 1 for 7 yards and ran 5 times for 5 yards. Curious why you think he should play?

That is misleading because this is just the 6th year for the bowl. The former game, called the Motor City Bowl then the Little Caesar's Bowl is considered a different bowl game entirely since it ended operations. The Lions own this new bowl (Quick Lane Bowl).

EMU looked like they had the whole sideline and endzone. I cant imagine there were as many Pitt fans as you guys are saying.

I was there and there were a LOT of Pitt fans there. But, I'll defer to your knowledge, because you obviously watched it on TV. Only Pitt fans see the dark in everything, even a bowl win.

On TV it looked and even sounded like more Pitt fans there than EMU fans.
I know a ton of Pitt fans that went to the game.

Probably because the other 2 are pretty bad. I don’t understand what they see in Williams, he’s lousy.

Martell has some talent, but is a head case. Not sure why Perry doesn’t get a little more rope, he’s not great but is definitely superior to Williams.

There’s no way there were 15-20k Pitt fans there, I find that really hard to believe.

As usual though, the Pitt fans in attendance were loud and supportive.

No idea, just said it sounded louder than their crowd. Saw plenty of people wearing Lions and Tigers shirts too.

Buddy that was there told me there seemed to quite a few locals with no rooting interest just there to support the event. If true that’s great to hear.

I went to Bham, El Paso and the Fiesta Bowl, all were well attended by Pitt fans and by locals.

Even though I knew all about it I was surprised at how many locals are huge supporters of the game in El Paso, those people really love that game.

I didn't go to the bowl. However, I went to the Ga Tech game this year at there were Easily 10,000 Pitt fans there.

Of course the people who went to the game are clueless, and you, who sat on his couch celebrating until 47 seconds were left when you cried your eyes out, know who was there and who wasn;t. Your trolling and anti-Pitt schtick is old and its time to go to Arizona where you can actually support a team that you love.

What do you think the breakdown was?

The TV view showed the EMU sideline and that looked almost completely full of EMU fans as well as one of the endzones. They didn't show the Pitt side much. When they did, it lookes like they had parts of 2 sections. But since you were there, what would you say?

I'm probably not the best guy to estimate numbers, but I'd bet there were 5K+ there, and I think I'm probably underestimating it......certainly more EMU folks there but that is to be expected since they are just a couple of miles down the road. Can't speak for what they showed on TV. But, the Pitt turnout was very, very good, in my opinion, and they did make a lot of noise. You could drive up there, reasonable, didn't have to screw with plane tickets, and flying is such a PITA anyway. Like I say, I had a ball. Gotta have fun. I'm 68 years old and this torturing yourself because worrying about attendance, not playing for national championships, whatever is a waste of time. I'd much rather go, enjoy my team play, and have a good time. Life is too short for all the complaining. Don't mean to pick on you guys, but, seriously, enjoy the experience and soak it up. It seems so many of you are not happy unless you are miserable. I don't have time for that. And, actually, you guys don't, either. H2P!

It was a record for total attendance for the Quick Lane Bowl(just under 35k). This is their 6th bowl game.

About 500 more people than Minnesota-Central Michigan in 2015. Key is having a Michigan team in there.

It is this simple, we went 8-5 in a year some predicted us to go 5-7, hell i saw several 3-9 predictions. Great job by this team and 2020 will be "the year". Cant wait. Lets take this momentum into a terrific off season!

The telecast was an infomercial for EMU and the MAC. "Grease monkey" coaches shirts were a bad look for EMU.

You could go pretty reasonable. We didn't get our tix through Pitt, either, my son just got on their website at Ford Field and bought them. There were Pitt fans all over the place. Left Christmas Day after Mass, about 3-4 pm, got there about 9:30, stayed at a Motel 6 or something near there (I guess it was a Comfort Inn), loafed the next day, ate some, had a nice dinner and went to the game. Afterward we decided to start driving with the idea of stopping if we got tired. Didn't stop, wound up driving the whole way through, got home about 7AM or so. It was a great trip. Had a ball. Fans were nice, people were nice, good game, good food, didn't spend an extravagant lot of money, saw our team win a thriller, what's not to like?

There were actually both more Pitt fans AND Eastern Michigan fans there than I expected. The lower bowl was mostly full (the upper level was not open), which is more than I thought there would be. There were far more Eastern Michigan fans there than Pitt fans, but surely we were all expecting that, weren't we?

I was there. I would estimate it was appx 75% EMU fans and local people with no vested rooting interest like most of the group I was with. I was surprised at how many people turned out for the game.

I thought Pitt was pretty well represented given the circumstances. 25% of that crowd was 8 or 9 thousand people.

Given the circumstances that’s a really good turnout by Pitt in my opinion. Going into the game I would’ve thought 5k at most.

Probably a bigger contingent in Annapolis given it was a slightly better bowl, Narduzzi's first bowl, better opponent. But we've traveled well to the regional bowls. I was at the Pinstripe and we showed extremely well there.

I honestly expected about half the total actual attendance. I knew I guessed wrong when I got stuck in a long line of cars exiting the freeway 2 hours before the game. I saw several friends and acquaintances at the game who had no affiliation with EMU or Pitt. There were tons of people who weren’t wearing either team’s
colors.
