Guesses on Miami line

I would say very close to pick 'em, depending on how their game today turns out. I can't see it going higher than -2 in either direction, unless Miami lays an egg today. I think Pitt -1 seems reasonable. Then again, I thought we would open at -5.5 at Syracuse.

Will reserve judgement until I see how Perry looks against Ga Tech today. They should win easily but I’m still not convinced this is a different guy than the one that threw the ball like it was a shotput last season. They can be a damn good team with a QB that’s an actual threat to spread the field.

Right now would make Pitt a slight favorite, probably in the 2.5 range.

We are looking at a Pitt penns state type game.

Both offensive lines suck. Both Defenses pretty good.

Worse case scenario for Pitt:

1) The OL get Pickett killed
2) Narduzzi doubles down on stupid and takes a field goal in a definite go for it situation

Best case scenario for Pitt

1) dont try to out-athletic these guys. They have NFL talent all o er their defense.

2) punch them in the mouth early.
Get up 10-0 in the first, and these punks will start arguing with each other and quit.

Why do so many people still think Miami are like the old “U” teams that merely show up and blow people out like it’s 1991? They’re typically a disorganized, poorly led group of good athletes who are totally beatable most weeks.

They are tied at the half with Georgia Tech, who is awful.

Tech hasn’t scored more than 24 points in any game this season, looks like they will eclipse that rather easily today.

at home , I would say Pitt -1
I should put $$$ on Miami, that way I can't lose.

give me some insight ....

Sagarin’s overall rating predicts Pitt by 1 point.

Aside from gambling lines, the best prediction really depends on which Pitt team shows up.

If you throw out the Virginia and Ohio games as being early season with new offensive coordinator trying to find its way and kick out the Delaware game as a total aberration due to sitting out/resting so many banged up guys (including Pickett) and look only at the rest then—

Pitt has been playing between 7 and 9 points better than its current Sagarin rating. If you accept this latter as current reality, then—

Pitt should win 8-10 points rather than by only 1 point

We shall see next week!

Miami is dreadful this year but I don’t like how we match up against them. Line will be vary based on how this game finished but I see Pitt being a small favorite at home. I’m guessing it opens at 3 and bounce around a bit
