There are often "Haiku" threads on the GU board before "big" games ... and since our game is being played in Okinawa ... it made sense and there IS a thread that's been started. Thought I'd "share" my contribution (and invite you folks to "share" your 5-7-5's)
------------
Mark, Jamie are friends
Pitt v Zags "finally" on
I like our chances
-------------
Okay ... I'll edit and add another one (obviously from the GU side). FWIW this is about a close as we come to "smack" talk ....
-------
maynard g krebs

Zags in sumo land
Karnowski and Edwards knock
Panthers out of ring
-------------

Nice. Most of our fan base won't know what a haiku is. They will think it's the act of the center snapping the ball to the quarterback. Haiku is not smashmouf enough.

Hope the Panthers Win
We'll have to play some defense
What the hell's a Zag?

Dixon and Mark Few
Some say are sucky coaches
Never a Final Four.

Game is in Japan
Why play it so far away?
Bucks for the network

Two bigs in the League
Adams against Olynyk
Steve would pound his butt

It rains in Spokane
Home of our foe Gonzaga
Beats snow in the Burgh

James Mike and Jamel
If they can hit lots of shots
Bulldogs will go down

Zags have advantage
Flying in from the west coast
Jet lag no worries

Good luck to our foes
Want a good game for both teams
Sad Zag fans after.

Gozags1 may not be that crazy. If Georgetown is as predicted by Sagarin a top 15-20 team and Pitt scrimmaged them even or even won the scrimmage as may have happened as was rumored then that is 4-5 seed territory.

But then again what happens in a closed door scrimmage might not really be a good indicator of the relative strengths of the teams. Different teams approach those games with different agendas. "Win" the scrimmage is frequently not one of them.
