Las Panteras, what a dumb statement. The students even stayed well into th 4th quarter when everybody knew it was over.
Just got home from the game and the Panther Pit was strong the entire game.
The lower student section was full at least 45 minutes before kickoff and I would say 95+ percent of their the student seats were full by kickoff. They were all there until Sweet Caroline was over, which we all know happens every week, so why talk about it?
I was very pleased with the student turnout. Even commented to my friend when we got in that the lower level student seats were already full and kids were already starting to sit in the upper deck. Good turnout for a holiday weekend game against Villanova. Anyone who says otherwise is a fool.
The shady side was filled, even the upper section corners. Of course the sunny side didn't look as nice. God forbid we ever get a freakin late afternoon game in september

The original post is incorrect. The students were amazing yesterday considering the fact they rarely show on that level for an FCS team. They brought the only energy in the first half. Can't believe people are still worried about the freaking students when the issue is the other 40,000 people sitting in the clubs in the A/C, or standing on the rotunda, or sitting their posting from their phone about attendance and the student section.
Totally agree. They were there most of the game. Sure they went in at halftime but who cares......it's halftime. They were loud, organized and stayed until the end. Anyone who says otherwise was not there and watching.
I don't get to attend many games but what stands out to me most is just how disengaged most sections appear to be.
I've sat in different sections throughout the years and the overwhelming vibe I get is that you need to sit in your seat, don't stand, and don't make noise. It's different than any other sporting event I've attended.
For example, I got very emotional when James came out of the tunnel yesterday. Might have been the most juice I've ever had as a Pitt fan. I stood and screamed my head off only to have the couple sitting beside us shaking their had at me. I try to be as respectful as I can be to others so I sat my ass down. I guess that's just how it is? We tend to conform to the norms of the rest of the group.

You guys would find something to gripe about after a night in the sack with Charlize Theron: not that she would spend a minute of her time with some whining male.
Pitt did well yesterday and it was a beautiful day.
