seriously WTF. there is a alot of carnage on the pitt sports scene-most notably on the front porch of the university-football. is anyone home in the AD office to to shed light on what's going on in the college sports world-most notably pitt FB. if only to say soothing words-pump the PR handle-tell tall tales about plans for the next FB season and in the future. even an appearance by the chancellor sitting next to the AD-nodding in agreement. gotta start small and at least talk the talk.

Hey, it took Todd Graham all of one year to see Pitt doesn't care. Barnes.....used a lame excuse to be closer to his mom.....who is nowhere near Corvalis, OR. Both got out at the first chance. Heather woukd have followed if anybof the schools she spoke to offered.
I believe this is the most important hire Pitt Athletics has ever made and I am not sold the guy understands how distressing the overall situation is.

Please explain why? Who starts construction with no financing in place? They should have never broken ground without $60 million , yet they did so without even meeting their $20 million goal in fundraising. Plus everyone knew it was going to cost more than the $250 price tag. It was a stupid project to take on, and the execution of it was piss poor.
If you disagree with my statements, state why. But to just blow another person's legitimate opinion with mockery instead of facts is foolish, lazy, and of no value.

His “legitimate” opinion has been misogynistic going back to the day she was hired. Wasn’t gonna get into that but here we are. So for him to talk about progressives defending her is quite rich.
It was a much needed project that if Pitt waited for donations, it would never get done.
It will help 14 of our 16 varsity sports.
There are only 2 sports that matter and that is more clear every day. I say that as a fan of wrestling. In 10 years there may only be 2 male sports. There is that much uncertainty rn. To start that project so underfunded was next to criminal.
I agree, others had to have buy in up to and including the Chancellor and BoT. We are not talking about $1 million, the amount alone would require all hands on deck.
As far as his posting history, I can't speak to that. I took a huge hiatus from this board and I forget who takes what position in general.
As far as her being the worse AD in 60 years comment, time will tell. We may not know for another 10 years or more. If VH becomes an albatross, she very well could be.
Regarding the VH mess, yes....the BOT and chancellor have to sign off. There is indeed a strong argument to be made this never should have happened...at least not with guard rails in place such as pre-approval donation commitments.
The BOT should be taken to task over this. And....its essentially the same BOT that hired Greene.
I think its a very valid question as to whether he is up for this monumental task, given the decision making of the BOT

The only thing that might save baseball is being in the ACC. My favorite non rev sport wrestling, is always in the cross hair of being cut at many schools. I think it's safe at Pitt, but if enough schools cut it, it may not even be a sponsered sport anymore.
Yea, no minor sport seems 100% safe.
Interestingly, i saw an article that suggests minor sports athletes may have an actionable case regarding unbalanced payments. Dont know if this has teeth....but someone somewhere will file this suit.
To answer your question why HL isn't the worse AD of the past 60 years, that time span would include Ed Bozik who single handedly almost ruined Pitt athletics and is a major reason we are still in the mess we are in today.
c'mon TM, I know you've been around and realize Ed Bozik was in that time frame and we still haven't recovered to this day from the sh*t storm he reigned down on Pitt athletics.
I've said many times that Heather only looked good because of the absolute incompetents that preceded her.
I'm beginning to wonder if Green isn't a hologram AD, kind of like the doctor on Star Trek Voyager. His "interview" during the radio broadcast of the game the other day left a lot to be desired.
I was wondering that myself. We don't need another basement dweller like Lyke who, along with numb nutts Gallagher, is responsible for the carnage of Pitt football.
He’s been around long enough to have a network of people who could give him the low low down of Pitt fan base. Ge came into this job with eyes wide open. This is frankly a referendum of Joan Gabel and whether she is serious about sports and willing to do what needs to be done.
