Today I was talking to someone who knows someone at a Class A school in western Pa. The head coach at the school decided he wants to run Pat Narduzzi's defense, so he reached out to the Pitt coaching staff and inquired about meeting with someone to discuss the scheme.
The coach was told to come down one afternoon, so he did, expecting a brief overview or something along those lines. What he got was a three-hour sitdown with Josh Conklin - as well as a few drop-ins from Narduzzi himself - to go over how the defense works.
Needless to say, the coach was impressed. This isn't a prominent Class A school. It's not a powerhouse or one that's known for producing Division I athletes (I can't think of the last D-I kid who came out of this school). But I think it's pretty telling that Conklin was willing to take that kind of time.
Just thought I'd pass that along.
