Really? I will wait for an article rather than a tweet. Her comments are very similar to the stuff she said before Stalligns was fired
edit and that was on February 28
If she isn’t she’s in for a rude awakeningVery disappointing from her. I'm not sure she's in touch or aware of what is happening with this hoops program.
I guess you guys are right and I get it. I just have this eerie feeling that Heather retains him regardless, I just have that feeling, I really hope I’m wrongI wouldn't read too much into it. There's not much else she can say at this point.
2 examples were named. Take the worst loss in Pantherlair history and slink away now
Honest to god, this went down as the worst L in PL history and you still can’t take the L. Dude, just say you were wrong, AGAINWhat the eff are you talking about? They didn't fit the criteria I was very specific about. And the criteria is critically important because it shows that AD's do not fire their own hires with that many years left without hires.
Another L for you. Keep trying. You'll win one someday.
Me tooI guess you guys are right and I get it. I just have this eerie feeling that Heather retains him regardless, I just have that feeling, I really hope I’m wrong

sadly, i do too. 5+ year extension is an absolute killer.. the only way i'd be onboard with Capel is if he:Me too
Turgeon fit your “criteria”. There’s nothing worse than when someone throws out a ridiculous question, gets multiple answers to that question and then says YEAH BUT.LOL. You are smarter than this.
Lets just throw out any random name that didn't fit my criteria
Rick Pitino
Roy Williams
Sean Miller
John Wooden
Ralph Willard
Danny Manning
All of those coaches would answer my question according to you.
You can't read and lost. Take it like a man.

you’re the worst kind of person and know nothing about college hoops. Least knowledgeable on the site
Who was the President? Who were the boosters? Much more important than the AD who come and go. Jamie had 17 ADs in his time at Pitt. This was my question: Try to read it very slowly or have your mom:
"BTW, you're probably a good person to ask this: has there ever been an AD who has fired their own hire with 5+ years on a contract without cause or scandal? Would Heather really be the first? I cant think of any with that many years left."
Now google who hired Mark Turgeon. You aren't going to like it.

I’m being serious when I ask this and it comes from the entire board:
Do you know ANYTHING about college hoops? Anything. A thing?
The AD has most say in a coaching change? I guess you missed the meeting between boosters and Gallagher right around the time Jamie was leaving. You’re literally cluelessDo you want me to change my question to fit your own criteria? I didn't ask who the President was. The AD has the most say in a coaching search and its A LOT easier for a new AD to fire a coach with 5+ years left than for the hiring AD to do so. Like I said, I'm not sure its ever happened. If you dig long enough, maybe you find 1-2 examples.
As much as I think your position yesterday was off the rails you’re correct here. Neither fit your criteria.Do you want me to change my question to fit your own criteria? Bingo. Heather made a huge mistake and has to hope and pray he can pull a Wake or Miami.
There are scenarios though where he can be fired:
1. Several good players transfer
2. We go 3-17 with mostly embarrassing blowouts
OopsMitch Barhart was the AD at UK when they hired/fired Billy Gillispie. The only kicker, he was working under a MOU that had 5 years left. UK paid him for 4 to go away.
Figured that out, didn’t you? This is just her speaking as an AD at a press conference for womens' lacrosse. Her screen name on Pantherlair is "gary2".
Really? I will wait for an article rather than a tweet.
But really?

Pitt AD Heather Lyke: Jeff Capel 'has not lost the team by any stretch'
Like anyone at the Petersen Events Center last Saturday night, Heather Lyke was not pleased with Pitt trailing by 27 points at halftime to Virginia...www.post-gazette.com
LOLJust 6 months before he was fired, Dan Mullen signed an extension that would have kept him at Florida another 5 years.
Haha this is too funny. @Sean Miller Fan will come back with YEAH BUTHow many years does Bryan Harsin have left on his contract?
AU boosters look like they are going to fork over almost $40 million in 15 months to make coaches go away.
Why? When asked if her patience with Narduzzi is an example that should be followed, she said no two situations are alike. Sounds like she doesn't have the same amount of confidence in Capel. I wouldn't expect her to give away much more than that. After reading more, depressed
NoNot to nit pick, but
She said “they” believe in coach Capel, not “I” believe coach Capep.
Significant?
Hahahahah I knew you would be melting down and I love it.After reading more, depressed
Guess we need to lose them all and by large numbers.
Will that even mean anything?
I am sure her would respond be similar AD speak, but I wonder how she would have answered if the two halves Saturday night were reversed and Pitt blew a 22 point halftime lead at home.
