Should be to the Pitt legal department to schedule a meeting to review Narduzzi’s contract and possible settlement options. Before she does anything else, she should explore viable exit options that she can present to the Chancellor, BOR, and high dollar donors and then select the best option. What should not be in play is to let Narduzzi continue as the head football coach at The University of Pittsburgh. There’s more than enough data out there that tells you he’s not capable of leading this program.

We need an infusion of talent on the offensive side of the ball. Thankfully you are not in charge. Our athletic department can't handle buying out the basketball and now FB coach. We would get another up and coming assistant and a whole new staff. We would potential lose our star studded defensive recruits this year. Get off the sauce and back away from the ledge

Who is responsible for the lack of offensive talent...in year freaking 6 of the regime?

How long should Pitt let this continue? I know you’d keep narduzzi here for life if it was your choice.

At least you haven’t posted a thread yet pumping up narduzzi’s defense.

Me? Of course he should be fired if the losing continues. But acting irrationally after a loss or after something negative leads many businesses down the drain.

I was supportive, I was patient and I was willing to live with a certain amount of warts. Yesterday was the final nail in the coffin.

I like the guy, but Duzz is a dead man walking. If not this year, then it will be next year. I'm not sure it's worth a years salary just to keep him around. It's not going to get better, and there's no chance HL gives him another extension.

Time for everyone to accept he'll never get it done at Pitt. Sucks to type that but its true.

The continued losing is a given. You start your planning now and have it in place and finalized. If things turn around you shelf it. If it doesn’t you don’t burn cycles deciding what the exit strategy is when you should be reviewing coaching replacements.

Simmer down everyone! Pitt will be methodical and deliberate in whatever course they choose regarding the head coach for the football team.

And people like you are like the train companies 75 years ago who thought it was only about trains instead of transportation. And I’m amazed at how everyone knows how much money Pitt has to spend and what provisions/clauses are in the coach’s contracts. Lastly, who’s responsible for the talent on the offensive side of the ball?

I promise you she already has all that done even before the season. She’s a smart person, not someone doing knee-jerk things.

After a loss? Have we not lost 4 in a row? No one is acting irrationally after a loss here, they're acting rationally after a 4 game losing streak with a very real chance of ending up 3-8 with what was supposed to be the breakout season under Narduzzi.

Breakout season says who? Vegas? No the had us at 5 wins. Our peers? No we were picked 8th. And that was before a reschedule from hell.
You can’t win win no offense. Again should he be fired after the season? Probably. Who knows, the season isn’t over. I honestly don’t love Narduzzi. Is the defense very good? Yes. I like the defense. I don’t like his personality, to me he seems like the typical Trump supporter type.

I'm amazed how people are quick to spend money that is not theirs and no idea the budget.
If some big donors step up and cover the buyout like other schools in this situation then im all for moving on.

If not we probably have another year

Review his contract?????? She is the one who agreed to the contract.......she is part of the problem in setting up such a long extension and buyout. He hasn't changed and for her to offer this to him in 2017....She has no clue when it comes to him. He has "hoodwinked" her. Part of the problem, is that this is NOT new. AD's react after the fact. TOO many AD's react until it's really bad or reports/videos come out about their coaches.....one can look to central PA for that one :)

Get procactive and get it fixed.........

Aside from Canada, Narduzzi has done a poor job hiring and recruiting on the offensive side since he got to Pitt. Canada was Narduzzi’s one chance to elevste this team to 10 win team.

His next two OC hires show that PN is not getting better on the job or evaluate talent the way a very good HC needs to be able to do. He just is not hiring and coaching well enough.

PN either accepted that his offense was going to be mediocre again this year (which means he can not recruit well on that side of the ball) or he actual thought they’d be good (which shows he naively trusts that his OC will somehow magically find a way to turn the same bunch of mediocre offensive players from last year into something special this year).

Narduzzi misjudges talent and opponents way too often. We desperately need a coach who is a proactive with new improvements not a reactive with the same lame excuses.

There is a big difference between thinking you can be a very good D1 head coach and proving you have the necessarily skills and constant drive towards self improvement required to be one.

Once again, no one in Vegas put out season win totals this year. Guy yesterday swore on here it was 6.5, now you say 5.

They didn’t put them out because of the fear of cancelled games and schedule uncertainty would lead to all those bets having to be refunded.

if we were truly expected to win five games this year, then he should be fired. Just because you live up to an expectation of being bad doesn’t mean you get to keep your job.

also, no one is acting irrationally. This is for losses in a row and it is a recurring theme for the last several years. Multiple losses the teams we should not lose to in multiple blowouts.

stop making excuses for him.

Of course he also thinks that if it wasn't for the refs screwing us over we'd be 8-0 already this year. Maybe even 9-0.

And don’t forget the newer one - “if Pickett played”. Someone yesterday said there’s no doubt we’d have beaten Miami if Pickett played. I can immediately eliminate that one as I have plenty of doubt.

He hired people that wouldn't challenge his ultimate authority or co-ordinators that were not a threat to his job, if in the event, he failed (which he is and has)

Does this season really surprise anyone ? Pitt Fb has been disappointing for so long I just expect the season to go badly . That bad coaching decisions will cost games and Pitt just doesn’t have enough quality players to overcome the coaching .

Does firing PN really accomplish anything if Pitt ( administration) doesn’t get 100% behind a winning Fb program ?

Great handle 303vND ! Was at that game . TD was the best college Rb I’ve ever seen , never saw anyone when healthy that got through a hole any faster .

What Pitt officials just don’t get is how much enjoyment to your college experience does great athletic programs bring . Plus it makes lifetime fans and donors !

Your last paragraph is spot on. When a university doesn’t understand pageantry and how it builds tradition and fans for life, you’re screwed.

4 losses in a row, 2 as favorites, the latest loss a total de-pantsing of his entire program on national TV. In year 6. With a 3 year starter at QB and all of his own players. Don’t even pretend now that you weren’t one of the happy idiots on this board posting back in August about what a special, corner-turning season this was gonna be.

Wr are way past reactionary halfway through the 6th season. We are all out of excuses and scapegoats. The sample
size is large. This head coach can’t get it done.

Nailed it. The body of work is more than big enough and the results are clear.

For the last couple seasons we had heard many, many times how 2020 would be “the” year. I guess in one way it has been, just not quite what many posters here thought.

We also heard next year’s class would be the one because of that wonderful division championship

If is true, then he really is not that bright. To be the best, you have to hire the best around you. Period.

Even Todd Graham understood the premise that the better your coordinators are the better your team will be and the better you will look as a HC.

If a good coordinator leaves, you better at least be smart enough to get another good ones to replace him. He was not.

I was at that game as well. I remember thinking...TD is killing these dudes. Nothing better than experiencing the game day energy in Oakland and running up Cardiac Hill as the player buses rolled up the hill. People who think not having an on campus stadium is no big deal are idiots. Dave Janasek would walk up the hill with me and my Frick classmates and just talk about school. He would take some of us into the game...GREAT GUY! A true Pitt Man!
