Hell must be freezing over

He's not a fraud. He has high-level MAC talent and went 11-0 vs other MAC-ish teams and convincingly. IU is maybe slightly more talented than Pitt.
Punting the ball on 4th down on two occasions that he should have gone for it. Fair catching almost every kickoff. Playing conservatively on offense almost the entire game.

They talked about some of those 3rd down runs being the QB handing off on an RPO after ND only had like four in the box. The problem was those four were still kicking Indiana's ass up front.

Yeah I don’t know if they would have won the game but they were ultra conservative. It seemed like the middle passing game was working but they insisted on running the ball

Seems like when the Qb threw that first pic they played to not lose the game

ND is lucky they are playing a Georgia team with a back up Qb. They won’t get away with just running the ball against Georgia. I don’t think NDs passing game is all that great.

I don't get the Indiana hate. I certainly will never, ever root for Notre Dame. They use the ACC for their own purposes and have every advantage in the book. They need to nut up and fully join something somewhere.

You guys railing on the Big Ten act as though ND is some kind of ambassador for the ACC. They are not.

Indiana has no history and the guy went 11-1 in one season there. SMF loves his “MAC Talent” benchmark, but I would say he went 11-1 with, at best, James Madison talent. It’s fairly obvious that the guy can coach and lead.
Honestly, currently we are closer to Indiana as a program as a goal than we are to ND or the other CFP teams .

We need good luck and good schemes to have a chance

It was kind of sad. It was as if they were coaching just to not get blown out and embarrass themselves and the Big 10. It was almost as if they accepted they were going to lose and just try to make the score respectable, which they did at the end. One has to wonder, after a game like this, will the committee put more emphasis on strength of schedule going forward. It was clear Indiana didn't belong, hell their coaches even coached like they knew they were in over their heads. I like seeing new teams that haven't been there traditionally, but, if you make it like Indiana did, at least coach aggressively and give your guys a chance. Cignetti should have declined the spot and let Alabama go if he didn't think they could win.

JMU is high level MAC. That's why I said that. IU was no better than one of those really good MAC teams we see from time to time, who go 10-2 or 11-1 and get ranked 23rd.

I can understand if you don't have a good kick return team fair catching most kick offs. But when the other team scores with seven seconds left in the half and your two choices are fair catch the kick off and essentially just run out the clock or give your kick returner a chance to do something with the ball on the kick off, fair catching it there is just so, so stupid. That's the one situation that even if your return game is sub-par you should be running the kick back no matter what, even if the ball is five yards deep in the end zone.

To have a chance at what?

Indiana is a product of an easy schedule. They played 2 top 25 teams and got smoked by both. IU is a bad football team.

Pitt needs elite talent, just like every other college program that aspires to be good
