I know, others have said that he might be a career coach at U of Northern Iowa - but given that his three senior leaders are done and graduating, this could be the right time to make a move to a bigger stage. Although he's already had success on a bigger stage, as he's defeated two of the Sweet Sixteen teams this year (Iowa State and UNC), as well as Wichita State.

Also, in the "some other 'good vibes' department" - the team he coaches are nicknamed the Panthers, and in one of Pitt's fight songs, we say: "Hoop - Hooray, Hoop-Hooray for dear old UNI"

If this isn't an omen/karma or whatever, I don't know what is!! :D

He'd be like having Ben Howland here all over again . . .

From Montana zero east coast ties.

He certainly can coach but I would prefer someone with deep recruiting ties to our conference footprint.

Actually he's from North Dakota. Know what you mean about the east coast ties; Howland didn't have any and did pretty well here. If nothing else, selling the ACC to recruits the next few years will improve if one of the 6 teams in our conference left in the SS manages to cut down the nets in a couple of weeks. His roster is definitely littered with kids from IA, MN, and WI - but if he can sell the kids he's recruited to No Iowa and had success, maybe that's the ticket for Pitt and the ACC. A stretch, for sure, but he's in my Top 3
