i'm thinking the month of june-and then after the fourth of july we see a another rebuilding. Pittsburgh gets" nutted on" again.

PNC Park is just a big food court that has a field in the middle. It's like one of those medieval dinner theatre joints that were in vogue last decade, where goobers in knight costumes and fake accents put on a jousting show while you eat.
Well done...the imagery you capture in your post is so true! That's no baseball game out there...just a bit of histrionics at the most amateur of levels being taken in by a bunch of spectators wearing their feedbags

Sorry to have hurt your feelings with irrefutable, iron-clad facts. Just like the sentiments I extend to the chancellor's sycophants, toadies, and shills. If something is praiseworthy ... like, for example, the Penguins management ... I offer my praise. Likewise, if something deserves to have its skull crushed, down my heel goes.

Two great things that could happen to Pittsburgh sports would be if a true visionary would occupy the Pitt chancellor office with the clarity of the tremendous impact a football and/or basketball championship would have on the entire university, and if the entire Nutting family would perish in some freak accident somehow, and the league would enact a sale to a billionaire playboy with a giant ego and lust to deliver a champion.

the fact that you believe an analogy involving a midieval dinner theater and a baseball park is an iron clad fact tells me all I need to know about you.

First off all, wtf is a midieval dinner theater? I've never heard of that. I saw it in a movie with ferris bueller and Jim Carey but I don't think they actually exist. Do they have these around where you live? If so, where are you from?

If he does then he will have to a) trade a guy suspended for PEDs, B) trade a guy with a sprained ankle {breaks are often less intrusive because bines heal better}, C) trade an underachieving right handed pitcher with a bad habit of not being in good shape and throwing fastballs over the middle of the plate, D) trade a guy who is a defensive liability in center who hasn't hit his weight since he got married, E) trade a guy stuck in Korea because he is a boozer...
You don't like Nutting...fine, but this hardly makes your case.
The Pirates are surprisingly decent given that avalanche of misfortune that only the players can control.
They also have played a brutal schedule in the first 3rd of the season.

3.5 games out and we lost our best outfielder, our best infielder, and our second best pitcher.. id say he is doing a damn fine job. well actually I'd say Huntington is as is redface..

My opinion is quite simple here.....

-Kudos to Hurdle and NH for keeping the Pirates afloat this season with the number of off field issues and injuries that have come up. While they are only in the race today because the NL Central teams are all struggling, being around .500 with their issues is still a nice job on their part.

-Shame on Nutting though for coming into this season and the last few without throwing any additional resources into the team to actually go for a championship. He took a 98 win team and subtracted in order to keep his millions of profit in line.

You can (rightly) talk about injuries and suspensions all you want but this GM/Owner still, on purpose, went into the season with Daniel Hudson as the set-up guy and Chad Kuhl as the fourth starter. That's setting yourself up for failure 9 times out of 10.

Certainly not going to defend Nutting cause he is one of the worst owners in sports. But Hudson is on NH in my opinion. They gave that bum 2 yr 11 million dollar deal. That is big money for a reliever especially on the Pirates. Terrible signing and it was money that could have been spent much better.

This. And the post after yours.

My long time dream for Pirate's ownership. Somebody with a sh!tload of money who's goal in life is to have the trophy handed to him by the commissioner so he can stand their and act like he actually played himself! LOL!
