That's a great idea, an awesome venue and with 4000 seats, it might even be a sellout! LOL!
In all honesty, spring games are boring, but at this venue, it's worth going just because of the venue itself, nice location, nice view, etc, hope it's a beautiful day.
Highmark is about as good a venue as you can ask for for an event like this. Its in the city, on the T line, has great views and the perfect number of seats. If the weather is nice, it'll be a great atmosphere.
I just hope Narduzzi doesn't do the Offense vs Defense scrimmage that Harris, Wanny, and Chryst did. Those are so boring because there's no flow to them. The scoring system is so bizarre. I understand why they do it that way but as a fan, I would much prefer to see an actual game. Blue vs Gold. Divide the team in half. Blue has 1st string offense and 2nd string defense. Gold has 2nd string offense and 1st team defense. And no players playing on both teams unless of an emergency situation.
I think Michigan State used the "real game" format last year so hopefully Narduzzi does that.
Can't ever see myself attending an exhibition game in any sport, but this setting is more tempting than any. Hats off to the Pitt leadership for securing Station Square.
A successful spring game is Conner, Voytik and Boyd not getting hurt.
I assume Conner won't be playing any DE since he's clearly a 1st or 2nd rd pick?
Spring games are usually boring - for me the best part is usually the anticipation of the event, then once I've seen about 20 minutes of it, the thrill is gone. I do like to take a look at the guys who redshirted - see how much they look the part after a season of working in the program.
Some of the guys I'm interested in seeing this year:
Elijah Zeise - Can he be an answer at WR. And have any of the other candidates improved - guys like Weah, Challingsworth...
Connor Dintino - I think this kid is going to be a star - might needs another year, but good size and quickness at DT.
Ejuan Price - do we play him in the spring game or keep him in bubble-wrap?
Chad Voytik -- does he use spring ball to build on how he played the second half of the season?
Dontez Ford -- can he do more than win tug-of-wars?
Jaymar Parrish -- I hope he doesn't get any bigger - he was way-big last season...
Qadree Ollison -- who does he look like running the ball...
Shakir Soto -- does he look, and more importantly play, more like a DE than a DT?
Quintin Wirginis -- can he be the hammer in the middle?
