Hinson’s 3

That had to be the flattest 3 and longest point shot that caught nothing but net. I don’t think there’s a fan or coach on the staff who wasn’t thinking wtf was that right before they exploded with joy

I remember before the year when no one knew who Hinson was, and there were scouting reports from Lairsmen on him that always talked about the non existent arc on his shot.

I don’t know. He is pretty accurate from behind the arc. Like in the Miami game still hitting rim on the last shot with such an awkward release and not the first time he has hit from there or beyond. Not a lot of air balls I remember from him this year. Probably are some, but he makes you quickly forget.

Where does it rank in the great 3-pointers in Pitt history?

- Ashton Gibbs half-court heave to beat Providence
- Ronald Ramon's buzzer beater to beat WVU
- Rod Brookin's buzzer beater against... I think Seton Hall?

Blake's 3 last night has to be top 5 as far as dramatic impact and the stakes.

Levance against Duke and Xavier are in my top 5 along with Ramon and last night.

What’s interesting is that I think we all felt that the Elliot 3 attempt from the corner shortly around then that DIDN’T go down was the crucial shot. To the negative, of course. On Pitt teams of the past it might well have been. But this one, foibles for sure, does have multiple guys who can deliver that kind of hammer.

Agreed. Was not upset they went for the dagger shots as I was confident it was 50/50 to go down. Same with the Miss St three. You have to take it.

I'm sure the metric is out there somewhere, but I feel like he makes the same percentage of very deep threes as he does conventional threes. I can't recall a Pitt player with the range Blake has. Or the greenlight to take them.

I do not think he was on balance or square either?
