Elaborating on a very quick point made on the L'ville game thread: have loved the contributions made this year by Bryce. But his game has been lagging noticeably the last couple of weeks.

Two factors to note:
1. Fitness - Bryce wouldn't strike anyone as a ripped and buffed marvel, but of late I'm getting the sense that his body is toting more good livin' than he showed in the earlier part of the year
2. Prior seasons inactivity - I think I read where it's been a couple years since Bryce played a full college season? He may be coming up on hitting a "wall" of sorts, the type that hits minor leaguer baseball players coming on their first full MLB season.

I'm hoping that this staff is seeing the same thing, and addressing this with the player - in terms of enhanced fitness training as well as rest to allow his body to catch up.

Between Hugley's conditioning and Mr. Hinson's, some questions gotta be ax'ed of the training staff.

You have me questioning myself but his name is Blake is it not?

I think you can have an ebb in the season. Hopefully he returns to earlier form down the stretch.

Is this who you are thinking of?

Just making a point. If we're going to make some noise the rest of the way, Hinson MUST be the best player he can be. He's been good, very good at times. But - as noted earlier - too much liking cake!!

Blake is a guy who wants to go pro and feels he has to be an outside shooter to do that
So he presses

So next year they got Hinson, Fede, Twins, Santos, the 2022 non-players in Jeffres, Hugley, Dior, and the incoming class of 3. Is that 2 more open ships still?

Losing Sabande, Burton, Cummings, and Elliot will obviously have a huge impact. I'd love to see the two remaining 'ships go to portal transfers. Find a similar pair to Burton and Elliot. An established PG and a consistent 3-pt threat

Sounds good but won't be easy. Hope Capel can keep it rolling into next year.

I think my question too is where do the transfers out occur? Hinson and Fede are starters so no reason to go. Twins and Santos getting minutes given what they bring, also no reason to go. So maybe if players leave will be from the Jeffres, Hugley, Dior trio?

I think both foul trouble and playing outside a bit too much are more the culprits than conditioning?

When he forces things early, the offensive fouls start to happen. He needs to let the game come to him. Capel has mentioned that he has convenient amnesia when it comes shooting and he has the swagger to make huge shots. He needs to find other ways to contribute during those times when it’s not working. Defense. Rebounds. Free Throws. That’s the next step for him to take.

You cant assume ANYONE stays. Starters from winning teams transfer all the time. However, I'd expect Hinson and Fede back. On the most likely to transfer list, I'd say:

1. Dior
2. Santos
3. Hugley
4. Twins
6. Fede
7. Hinson
8. Jeffress

Yep

Ooops... For Pete's sake! Yes, Blake
That's OK, in this new age of the NCAA portal mercenary no one is around long enough to become familiar enough with for first a name basis relationship to stick...Hillgrove saying "and the ball goes in low to Bryce Canyon" would have been cool though..

Santos, the twins and Fede I highly doubt will be transferring. Not after a probable as of now NCAA appearance and lots of positive momentum at Pitt. Not sure why you feel this way.

Now Dior and Hugley are much more likely imo especially Hugley.

I haven’t given up hope that Santos can continue to develop and become Even more serviceable. Man, if Hugley could turn it around with an extra year in 2 years they could rotate:

Fede/Hugley as Seniors
Santos/Jeffress Seniors
Twins as Juniors
And then makeshift Dior/Lowe/CC/Cummings
